My biggest complain with Skyrim was that there wasn’t much meat to it. Sure, it looked pretty, but when you got down to the actual game play, you had the main quest, which was well done, but then all of the other side quests were shallow and short. If you just wanted to roam around and explore, there was a lot less to do than there was in older games.
I’m worried that Fallout 4 will fall into the same trap, focusing too much on atmosphere and not enough on the smaller quests. Once you complete the main quest, how much more will there be to do in the game?
Not that my hijack matters much, but I did reinstall. I do have the add-on content.
However, I just learned you can check your history and I guess I bought the Ultimate edition for $5. It’s just not called Ultimate in my library. It just says, “Fallout New Vegas”.
So folks, you might have it even if you did not know it.
I thought it a surprisingly well done fan music video. Never played FO3 to the point where I found the Wazer—just lost interest about the time I found the Jefferson Memorial, but I guess it’s all that.
This is sounding very good: build your own weapons, build your own settlements, build your own suits of power armour, power armour with jetpacks, better companion controls. And they successfully staved off the lynch mob by confirming you can play as a woman. No sign of a drivable vehicle, but everything else is promising.
It turns out that the big bug fix mod I installed requires a single change of a value in the ini file. As I hadn’t done that then the mod wasn’t loaded.
So I am all cool now. I put the one on to stop the stuttering too. So we’ll see how it goes, I’m enjoying it so far although I still prefer FO3.
I’ll admit, I’m a little nervous about VATS just slowing down time. I’m not a fan of FPS so VATS was what made me fall in love with Fallout. Hopefully they’ll be a perk that will allow a full stop. (Or if not, I’m sure there will be a mod)
