Fallout 4: Now Playing

She loves the Kremvh Tooth I gave her but she has the habit of picking up odd pipe rifles.

Fallout 4 on sale today for $49.99 on Steam.

Not everybody comes. Companions staying in the settlement don’t answer to the bell, as far as I can tell. Only ordinary settlers do.

I ran into Cait on the road last night. She was walking with a brahmin like a provisioner. I was just on the edge of successfully romancing Curie and I didn’t want to dismiss her, as I have had problems with her vanishing when dismissed, so I couldn’t do much about Cait. Companions are unpredictable in all the wrong ways.

I always have my companions show up. Might take them a minute depending on where they are, but they all come.

This is in Sanctuary as I never bothered with the other locations.

I’ve romanced curie and cait. Next step is to set them up together at a settlement all by themselves and see what happens.

Make sure there are straw pillows available.

Heathen! This may be the wasteland but my ladies all get dozens of comfy pillows I picked up in some vault I think.

I have matching armored Atom Cats outfits for Curie and me. She wears the fashionable sunglasses, I wear the Ray Ban styled ones. We also have sets of maxed out, hot rod painted power armor. Hers is done in the shark theme, mine is flames. If I knew us in real life we would make me want to puke.

Armor over the atom cats outfit or actually armored leather jacket like the railroad coat? Hadn’t thought about modding the jacket.

And I would buy an atom cats patch for my motorcycle jacket in a heartbeat.

The outfits themselves are armored. I don’t know if the vanilla game will let you do that, though. I am using a mod that widened the array of clothing that will accept a ballistic weave. I do put leather leg pieces over it, but that is mainly for visual effect. I am using a mod that makes Curie look like Audrey Hepburn. If I can find a mod that lets her wear a scarf over her hair as American women did in the 50’s and 60s, she’ll be perfect. Even though they aren’t rideable in-game, I believe I will have to put a couple motorcycles in front of our house.

Which reminds me…why have they never had bikes you could ride? Oblivion and Skyrim had rideable horses. The Mojave Wasteland would have been particularly suited to motorcycling.

Yeah I screwed the railroad pretty much first chance I got. Going to side with them next play through.

Guys… What’s your favorite ENB preset/reshade mod?

I took a bit of childish revenge on Preston for all the wipe-some-settler’s-ass missions he heaps on me. He is now wearing the Grognak costume and a pompadour wig. He looks very silly wandering around Sanctuary dressed like that. I put a yellow flight helmet on Mrs. Long, so that I don’t have to see her bitch face even though I can’t shut her bitch mouth.

Let’s see…biker costume available…miner/hardhat + jeans and flannel shirt available…army fatigues available…fedora+road leathers is fairly close to a cowboy…Yes! All I need is some way to approximate an Indian chief and I can have The Village Peoplein one of my settlements.

I’m been outfitting all my provisioners with mining helmets. It makes them much easier to find and help in fights at night because I can see the light shining.

I finally got Hancock as a companion… and he doesn’t really do anything for me.
Is there something he’s good at that I’m missing?

My Vault Dweller’s Guide says that Hancock’s perk is “Isodoped”, but doesn’t elaborate on what exactly that is.

My current gripe: I’ve completed the latest iteration of the Brotherhood’s Quartermastery and Cleansing the Commonwealth quests, but the game won’t let me turn them in. I talk to Scribe Haylen who just says “Can’t wait to see what you find there”. I talk with Knight Rhys who just ignores me.

I’ve also got a large stack of technical documents for Proctor Teagan on the Prydwen, but he won’t respond when I talk with him either. Not sure what’s going on.

Increased critical acquisition when you are slightly irradiated.

Don’t know about the Technical Documents (but you mean Quinlan, Teagan has what sounds like a “be an asshole to settlers” quest). Maybe try dropping them all then picking up again, if they’re not quest items?

No link and the wiki doesn’t mention it, but I distinctly remember reading somewhere that CtC and QM become temporarily unavailable after the BoS comes and until some point in the questline. Maybe keep playing BoS for a bit?
Otherwise, if on PC, try this: Cleansing the Commonwealth bug ***FIXED*** :: Fallout 4 General Discussions

I’ve done the tasks for CtC and QM; my quest log in the Pip-Boy tells me that I should report to Knight Rhys and Scribe Haylen but they both ignore me. I’ll try the console command you linked to and see if that makes a difference.

I did discover over the weekend while flipping thru my Vault Dwellers Survival Guide book that your settlements are limited to a maximum population of 10 (per Workshop) + 1 for each point of Charisma. You can’t build additional workshops, so even if you max out your Charisma a settlement can’t ever be larger than 20 people. Kind of a shame, I think.

I wiped out The Brotherhood last night. Perhaps I waited too long to do this, as it was an anti-climax. I wasn’t even wearing power armor, just clothes with a ballistic weave. I used only my gauss rifle and killed everyone at at the police station and Boston Airport (including Buzz Lightyear) and then took care of everyone on the airship the same way. Maxon died like a chump. They all did. I didn’t even snipe them. I just kind of walked around blowing apart bucket-heads while they hosed at me with lasers and gatling guns. I’m pretty sure there are no surviving named BOS characters now except that one who is living as a hermit. I can’t remember where his hideout is on the map, so I doubt I’ll go after him.
The institute is next on the agenda. Hope they put up a better fight.
At this point, level 80, I’ve had about enough, I guess. I’m going to press through to the conclusion of the main plot line and set the game aside until there is some DLC available. I don’t have any urge at all to make a different character or try playing though while siding with a different faction.

Have I lost the last half of BoS/Railroad missions by finishing the main quest early?

I had done roughly 4-5 missions for each, but had finished the Minutemen pre-climax missions. I was roughly level 40. I wanted to get on with the main story line and get it behind me, so for the end-run I worked with the Minutemen and destroyed you-know-who.

During this process I did NOT become antagonistic towards or an enemy of the Brotherhood or the Railroad. Now when I visit them they make snide comments that I should have used their help rather than the Minutemen, but otherwise polite.

And I still get missions from BoS and the Railroad, but they’re always generic make-work (go rescue some synth, go take this kid on a killing spree), repeated. By concluding the main story, have I shut myself off from the latter half of each of their story likes (such as Paladin Danse’s reveal/future)?
