Fallout New Vegas DLC question

So I picked up NV on steam for $5 and decided to give it another go after trying it when it first came out. For some reason it didn’t grab me and I moved on to other games shortly after starting. This time I’m really into it and enjoying it much more. I went ahead and grabbed all the DLC today for $10 or so.

Can I tackle all those new quests right away or will that hose up the normal game? Is there any reason not run through some of the expansion stuff before completing the basic game?

I mostly grabbed the DLC now instead of later because I don’t usually revisit RPGs once I beat them so I thought I could incorporate the DLC into my general playhrough.

All of the DLC for New Vegas should be run before finishing the main quest line, because that finishes the game. There are recommended levels for running them, though, as the enemies in them are generally tougher than the ones in the core content in various ways. The entry points to the DLC should have popups warning you of level recommendations, what you can take with you, and whether or not you can leave the DLC area before it’s finished.

Personally, I left the DLC until I was finished with practically everything else, including killing the legendary deathclaw with a pair of brass knuckles (and, admittedly, a fairly large selection of chems).

Don’t get the treasure of the sierra madre DLC , it’s fucking awful. The others are pretty good though.

I got them all. I think there were 2 that were only 49 cents a piece and I think the Sierra madre was one of them.

Ah. Well… it’d be too expensive at half the price, but no real harm done then
