Fallout New Vegas.

And as I understand it, the higher your endurance the more stat-boosting implants you can get.

Meant to reply earlier yesterday, but uh…yeah, so there’s this game I’ve been playing.

Point above are right on…I am playing the game from the beginning the way that I evolved into playing F3 towards the end. Standoff and sneak…and yes, having a blast.

I wonder how much longer it will take me since I basically crouch-run everywhere I go.

Help please.

I’m spending these last few weeks sucking the last of the marrow out of this game until I get my Christmas present (fingers crossed for Skyrim). To that end, I’m trying to get at least one of each and every possible perfect condition weapon/clothing in the game and all its expansion packs. This includes all the modifications for weapons too. In some cases it’s impossible because some weapons are only given for completing a mission one way, and an alternate weapon is given if you complete it another way, so what I’m going for is all the possible weapons etc that I can get. Surprisingly, there’s only a few I can’t get, and of all the ones that I can get, I have them all now…except the Zap Glove.

I’ve been searching for this item (I have its big brother the Paladin Toaster already) for at least two weeks (real world time), and from what I’ve read on-line it is available from various vendors, but none of them seem to be selling it! I know it’s available at the Brotherhood hidden bunker, but only the scribes carry it. I tried to pickpocket/sneak-kill the scribes but that always ends up with the whole damn bunker gunning for me, even if no-one saw me kill them! (no fair). I’d really prefer not to have to kill the whole Brotherhood just to get my Zap Glove. And since none of the vendors seem to be selling it (I can’t count the hours I’ve spent on the couch hitting “wait”, “24 hrs”, “wait”, “24 hrs”, “wait”, “24 hrs” check “wait”, “24 hrs”, “wait”, “24 hrs”, “wait”, “24 hrs” check…), my only hope is that it’s a lootable item hidden in a cave or a box somewhere.

Does anyone know where the Zap Glove can be found?

PS. I’m on a PS3 so no cheats or mods available.

Have you had a look at the Fallout Wikia? That’s got pretty much everything you could ever want to know about the Fallout games on it, and I daresay what you’re seeking will be there.

Thanks Martini, and yes that site is always my first port of call. Which is distressing in this situation because all of the available locations they list are all vendors (apart from the Brotherhood bunker). And I’ve been to all of them. Repeatedly. I’m basically camped out in front of their stores. I’ll keep trying though - maybe I’ve just had bad luck.

There is another option… It’s arguably cheating, but you could use console commands to simply “give” yourself the item.

I know it’s not the same thing as finding/purchasing it “in-game”, but it sounds to me like you’ve made a good faith effort to acquire the item “properly” so personally I don’t think many people would hold it against you if you decided to take that option…

 Thanks M but my whole game, from start to finish has been pure as the driven vanilla. I’m playing it on the PS3 so no cheats, no mods. It’s not an option you can choose. Not that I’m against mods at all as I played Oblivion with mods and found it vastly superior to the game as-packaged. But that was on the PC.

No, I want to finish this one as it was sold. Call me stubborn :stuck_out_tongue:

A quick google suggests vendors restock every 3, maybe 4 days. Maybe save and rest? If you’re playing hardcore, it might be trickier and take a snack break. And if they don’t have what you’d like, I imagine loading and trying again will give a new set of items.

After another fruitless night of shopping and waiting and shopping and waiting, I’ve decided I’m going to slaughter the Brotherhood. God have mercy on my soul.

I’ve equipped myself with all I need to get the job done. It’s indoor combat down in the Hidden Bunker, so projectile explosives are counter-productive; I’ll need Fist of Rawr, C-4, plasma mines, a few Stealth Boys, the Ranger Sequoia (armor piercing rounds) and the Big Boomer shotgun (slugs).

I’ve saved my game just in front of the entrance to the bunker, and tonight I’m going in. No one is coming out of there alive except me and my Zap Glove.

Hacking Ramos’s terminal ahead of time makes the task a lot easier, as I’m sure you know. For whatever reason, IMO the ordinary sniper rifle with AP rounds took down paladins a lot faster than anything else I was using (didn’t have a plasma caster). They fly hilariously far though when you head shot them with either the YCS or the AM rifle.

Good hunting.

Thanks! So would hacking the terminal shut down the gun turrets? I was going to place a C-4 down by all of them in advance before commencing the attack (since they are all on the same level) and blow them all up simultaneously.

Hokay, here’s a brotip.

Bloody Mess + Meltdown + Specced-out Holorifle = Very interesting way to commit suicide.

The Vault wiki goes into all of this (and pretty much everything else you can do in the game) but what hacking his terminal does is to tell each turret to engage anything wearing Brotherhood armor. I hope your powered armor is non-faction…

Never got any of the DLC, so never got the Holorifle. From your guys’ descriptions of them, they frankly don’t sound worth the money. I’ve heard about some of the interesting ways to die from Meltdown though.

Some of the DLCs were actually quite fun, while others were a slog (though you still come out with some cool weapons and items). Old World Blues is worth getting, if nothing else.

Old World Blues was a blast (I still have to finish clearing out the Big MT). It’s classic fallout - silliness overlaid over the post apocolyptic horror.

And personally I loved Dead Money to utter bits, though a few people I know weren’t fans of it.

That said, I didn’t pay money so, you know - YMMV

Thirding Old World Blues. Excellent DLC pack. It’s the only one of the four I would recommend without reservation.

… For Science!

Really? What was the downside to Honest Hearts? (HH is the only DLC I have for FNV.) I kinda liked it…

The criticism I’ve heard for most of the DLCs is they are kind of linear without the open world feel of the rest of the game. I actually liked Honest Hearts as well, though OWB was the best of the DLCs, IMHO. The only DLC I didn’t really care for was Dead Money…I especially dislike that I can’t go back there and get items I missed (like the upgrades for the holorifle that I missed). My Dead Money trophy wall is sadly bare of all but a few weapons (at some point I need to upgrade my vault to the latest mod so that I can get a Old World Blues wall and a Lonesome Road wall as well).

Honest Hearts was a pretty environment, but the missions were kind of unremarkable and the the gameplay was pretty short. I think we were also meant to have built up some kind of empathy for the Sorrows, but the story wasn’t handled very well and I didn’t end up giving a toss about them. Maybe that was just me though.

Old World Blues is without question the best DLC. Many missions, interesting physical gameplace, a great sense of humor, excellent NPC’s and long gameplay. Second best for me was Lonesome Road, then Honest Hearts and then Dead Money.
