My daughter lost custody of her kids in her divorce (Due to her bizarre and sordid behavior, we supported her then-husband in the proceeding). In the past 2 years, she has phoned in 3 anonymous reports that he was abusing the kids. We pretty much raised the kids, and know them well. We know the claims are unsubstantiated, as CPS has concluded evey time. Now, a new report has been filed. I don’t blame CPS, they gotta follow up. Anyone have an idea how we can make this stop? We still have a relationship with her (punctuated by occasional tantrums on her part.)
Is your daughter dependent on you for support? I guess you can threaten to cut her off if she does it again, but then she may just do it again anyway, and then you have no more leverage.
I believe your son-in-law can sue her for filing false claims if he can prove she did it. Do you have such evidence?
I really hope you find a way to get this to stop.
No, she’s remarried. No proof it was her, but the last caseworker pretty much admitted it my former SIL, and apologized for the surprise visit.
