I’d like to try false eyelashes for the first time for our company Xmas party in a few weeks … any tips, hints, suggestions would be appreciated?
I’m pretty clumsy so any goofproof methods would be great!

If you’re looking for something subtly glam, I would recommend using the “individual” lashes, which are actually a little section of false eyelases. They are meant to be worn at the outer corner of the lid (1-2 bits per eye).
First, get lashes that match the color of mascara you will be wearing. You can test for length before you actually apply them. If they’re too long or you want to angle them you can trim them with fingernail scissors. When it’s time to apply the glue (after you’re done putting on all your eye makeup), put a small dot of it on the end of a toothpick, then from the toothpick to the base of the fake lashes. Blow on it for a few seconds to make the adhesive tacky rather than wet. Now you can put it on your eyelid, right at the base of your lashes at the outer corner. Hold it there for about ten seconds (but don’t put your finger on the glue!) while you wait for it to set. If the lashes are in the right place but not at the right angle you should be able to re-adjust them without ruining the glue.
I definitely recommend practicing a couple of times before the event. (False lashes can be re-used if you gently remove the old glue.)
Oh, and if you want the all-out glam/mod/drag look (which I prefer), go for the full set of lashes. They can be trimmed for width as well as length.
Have fun!!
Foxymoron … (great name by the way) - thank you … I’ll practice first, and give both methods a whirl …
