Family Feud

Now don’t get me wrong, I like Steve Harvey and I like what he’s brought to the show, but the answers that are showing up from the surveys - WOW!

Are the makers of the show a bunch of immature teenagers? The answers that are showing up on the survey results are just sooo outlandish and crude. Maybe I’m just a bit old fashioned, but damn!

A few examples :

Answer given by contestant was “going to the bathroom” or something along those lines… and the survey answer was “droppin’ a deuce.”

Really? I highly doubt that the people answering the survey when it was initially asked before the show, answered it that way.

Same thing with crude or sexual references to body parts, such as “dongs” , “vi jay jay” or “fart hole”

So are we to believe that out of 100 people, 43 people said “dong” as the answer? I doubt it. So why can’t they use a word that is not so crass.

Am I wrong on this?

How often do you watch? Risqué answers are written on the board with an ever-changing litany of innuendo and wordplay. They’re not just going to put “penis” up there, and questions invoking that answer are common. Gotta do something to keep it from becoming stale. I think whoever is writing them is pretty funny. Loosen up. :stuck_out_tongue:

My favorite euphemism was “ankle slapper.”

I admit I don’t watch it often, but when I do, I like Steve. He’s cool. It just bothers me the way the scoreboard answers are so vulgar. Maybe my sense of humor has changed over the years.

I’m guessing you’re not in the target demographic for the current incarnation of the show (whatever that happens to be, and I’m not in it either).

I think you are right.

Because they saw people watched Youtube clips of the old Richard Dawson and Ray Combs versions that had naughty or dumb answers so they created a version that is nothing but that. What they missed is those things were funny because they were rare and unexpected.
