Family Guy; The Empire Strikes Back (open spoilers)

Blue Harvest was passably funny, had some good parts.

Something, Something, Something… Dark Side was, IMO, a miss.

They did stop this one for a knee-pain bit, although it seemed shortened. I guarantee that the RotJ part 3 will have a chicken fight on the skiffs.

Thank God for that… I was afraid there’d be nine or ten repetitions of “aaah… hsssss!”

I voted “liked it”… I’m kinda looking forward to Mort being a hero in the next part.

I had the feeling that I’d seen it before. Some parts were awesome but long stretches of it were just bland.

I loved it equally to the last one. Which I also loved.

I’m apparently also the only one…

The part that had me absolutely howling was the cut away to Tom Selleck. The look on his face and his acting in the scene were priceless.

“Flimsy plywood and cheap grills are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid.”

-Han Solo

I liked Blue Harvest better, but this was pretty decent. It could have been better, but I can’t quite put my finger on why specifically.

The chicken as Boba Fett was brilliant. Cookie Monster kept cracking me up. And I love the ending with the “Robot Chicken did it better,” riffs again.

I am looking forward to ROTJ and I wonder if they’ll get around to I-III.

And Robot Chicken’s was way better than both FG’s. My favorite is when the emperor gets the phone call from Vader. “What the hell is an Aluminum Falcon?”

I have to agree with the “they forgot to include the funny” contingent.

The graphics were pretty good but the gags were lame.

Took me forever to remember the character who played Yoda.

Family Guy is a great show. But, I think I laughed for a solid 15 seconds per Star Wars episode.

I liked Blue Harvest, but this one just seemed like ESB… with different actors, some sarcasm, and the occasional joke.

Who was the Yoda character? I still can’t think of it.

The convenience store clerk that Chris was always talking movies with when he worked there. Whose name I have no idea on.

Could not agree more. I loved the first one. This one…they just forgot the jokes.

-Joe

That’s a little too obscure. Hell, Greased-Up Deaf Guy would have made a better Yoda.

So who do we need to “cast” for ROTJ? Meg as Jabba (or at least the Rancor), and I hope the Ewoks all look like Rupert.

The riff on Seth Green and Robot Chicken at the end was hilarious.

“Let me tell you a story called ‘Without a Paddle’”

It was ok. I thought Blue Harvest was funnier. And I thought Robot Chicken’s Star Wars episodes were much funnier than both. I did love the Without a Paddle joke. I don’t there is anything wrong with doing a loving parody of Star Wars.

You, sir, are not a true Family Guy fan.

This was the episode that I decided to stop watching family guy. It was bland — bland beyond belief. There was no humor IMHO.

It was a solid MEH. Not really all that funny, and I loved the first star wars parody.

Meg will be the Sarlacc in the next one.

So I wasn’t alone in my “meh” assesment, throughout the whole show I kept asking myself “this IS Family Guy, right?, so where are the jokes?” this was more or less a recasting of ESB with the Quahogians replacing the original ESB actors and played more or less straight

Blue Harvest was definitely better
