It seems that stories like this end up revealing that although everyone was shot, Daddy’s was the last and was self inflicted.

Well, officials did say the same thing after the 4 students were killed in Idaho and then later backtracked. But I agree the odds are that it was a family member.

I saw a follow up to this story. Looks like Dad wasn’t happy that Mom filed for divorce, so everyone paid.
I can see why the wife would want a divorce.

Confirmed as a familicide/suicide. This is the first mass killing in the US this year.
We’re discussing this extensively on another website, and yes, it was Mom, Dad, and 5 kids, and the maternal grandmother, whom I assume happened to be there and he wanted to eliminate witnesses.
People who are from the area (southern Utah) are saying that the father lost his job a few weeks earlier, and the family was “known to law enforcement.” Read into that whatever you may.
There’s a lot of speculation that he was abusing at least one of the children, most likely the oldest daughters who were 12 and 17, and the mother filed for divorce (and possibly moved her mother in) upon finding out.
