Seeing as we’ve had alot of cell phone threads lately, I thought I’d toss this out there.
DH and I don’t have cell phones, mostly because he thinks its a waste of money and he absolutely hates talking on the phone. I’ve been wearing him down on the issue for 4 years now. We have gone from “absolutely not” to “well, we’d have to two of them and that cost too much” to finally “well check out the options”.
Now, I know that if I come home and say we can get 2 phones for $80-something-a-month, he’ll freak out and we’ll be back to “absolutely not”. So, I’ve been looking at family shared plans. Nextel in particular (alot of DH’s friends have Nextel, DH likes the two-way feature, being able to two-way his friends is leverage towards getting my way). I see that Nextel has a family plan for $40 per month. Has anyone used their shared plans? Is the rate they say the actual rate you’re charged or do they add additional fees for the second phone? Do you recommend a different a different carrier?
I’d rather get the opinion of people who actually use the shared plans and not go off the recommendation of someone trying to sell it to me.
