Famous Lyrics

Following on the heels of the “Famous First Words” thread, I thought I’d do something similar for music. It’s the same as that thread, except it might be easier if you just used any of the lyrics, and not specifically the very first few lines. I’ll go first:

Sani #1:
“Lady, don’t love me now, I am dead
I am a saint, turn down your bed
I have no heart,” that’s what you said
you said “I can be cruel
But let me be gentle with you”

So what’s the song, and who sang it?

SanibelMan - My Homepage
“Hey, you sass that hoopy Ford Prefect? There’s a frood who really knows where his towel is.”

The tables are empty,
The dance floor’s deserted,

I don’t have to do drugs to mess up my head. I went to Catholic school.

Love is a burning thing
And it makes a fiery ring
Bound by wild desire
I fell into a …

burning ring of fire

Hey hey,
The clouds are whey,
There’s straw for the donkeys,
And the innocents can all sleep safely,
All sleep safely.

If you feel that you must suffer, then plan your suffering carefully–as you choose your dreams, as you conceive your ancestors.

And I’ve got one, two, three, four, five …

Woo! Serious cool points for Ruadh!

It’s one of my favorites, BurnMeUp.

Anyone who gets this is very cool:

Space travels in my blood
There ain’t nothing I can do about it
Long journeys wear me out but
I know I can’t live without it

Brainiac’s daughter
Made me a suit of bricks and mortar
And a matching stove-pipe hat
Oh, yes!

“My hovercraft is full of eels.”

Oh mother, I can feel
The soil falling over my head.
And as I climb into an empty bed –
Oh well, enough said…

Just sit right back and you’ll hear a tale
A tale of a mighty trip
That started from this tropic port
Aboard this tiny ship

“each of us, a cell of awareness, imperfect, and incomplete.”

gilligans island for the last one

maybe not famous . . . but I see more lyrics arounf here tha answers, this should be easy:

“Stars are souvenirs you never lose,
the past is never far;
and did you lose yourself out there ?
did you get to be a star ?”

“A single lifetime, even though entirely devoted to the sky, would not be enough for the investigation of so vast a subject.” - Seneca

Woo hoo, The smiths rock! I just saw Morrissey play last Thursday.

He actually played that song.
