Not only have pitchers and catchers reported, but the rest of the teams have as well - with games in full swing all weekend. I managed to tune in to a bit of a Royals game on the MLB app while running errands, and it felt like spring (50° weather didn’t hurt, especially after last week’s cold snap).
I’m in a handful of leagues, and it looks like the SDMB league was auto renewed a couple of weeks ago. We had 8 managers last year in the 2nd year of the NL-only format. I think it would be awesome if we could push our numbers back up to 13-15 and make it back into a full player pool, but I’ll take 8 active over 7 inactive managers any time.
Anyone else have an interest in joining us? Low pressure - we’re a casual bunch. If you’ve ever thought about joining one, this is a great place to start.
I just completed a 15 team slow draft, NFBC format. We started a few weeks ago - managers have 4 hours to make a pick, and the clock stops between 11pm-9am Eastern. It wasn’t too painful, save for 2 managers who seemingly milked it each time. I had the first pick, and the manager bookending me would make a pick, I’d usually be hanging around online to quickly make my 2 picks, and they’d take nearly the full 4 hours for their 2nd - excruciating.
I can’t complain too much - I wasn’t even aware the draft began when it did, and ran the full 4 hours for the first pick (Ohtani). If I hadn’t missed the email, I likely would have taken Witt Jr. Oh well.
Sorry, I’ve been super busy and just getting back from vacation. Normally I bounce everyone out of the league and make them rejoin, just to be sure that they will be back, but there probably isn’t time to do that this year.
Can I suggest Tuesday 3/25 as a draft date? 8:30pm Eastern? I know some of us have a draft the previous day…
@Munch are you OK if I make you a co-commissioner?
