Fantasy Baseball - AL only

Anybody else in an AL only league … or willing to help with info about former NL players who haven’t been on my radar screen?

Who are the best big hitters that came over to the AL this year… I assume Adrian Gonzalez is #1?

Lee
Reynolds
Dunn
Willingham

Did I miss any Japanese League players besides Nishioka who I had never heard of until this morning???

Gonzalez is absolutely #1.

I’d rank the rest of those as:

Dunn
Reynolds
Nishioka
Lee
Willingham

No one else really of note. Most of the talent was exported for prospects (Greinke, Lee, Marcum, Garza).

Gee, Munch, are you really saying Melky Cabrera isn’t of note?

As of yesterday, the top 4 run scorers in Spring Training were all Royals, with Melky at the top. What I think that means is that opposing managers have been waking up, looking at the schedule, and deciding that “today is the day we give the bat boy a chance to throw from the mound”.

You also missed Russell Martin. Worth keeping an eye on.

Well I’m embarrassed I missed him, since I’m a Yankee fan.

Others (all well below the initial group) are Alcides Escobar in Kansas City, Brendan Ryan in Seattle, Brad Penny in Detroit, Hisanori Takahashi in Los Angeles and Octavio Dotel in Toronto. The last three are pitchers, of course.
Most of these will only be of interest in a REALLY deep AL-only league.

What do you think of the following …

David Murphy … steady but are the Rangers going to play him?

Manny Ramirez … who knows???

Justin Smoak … lots of talent but …???
