Hell since we’re on Blount and Manningham I’ve got the following situation with a (non SDMB) league from work.
2nd WR spot is between Manningham and Meachem. (I’m leaning toward Manningham since Nicks is iffy and weak defense)
Flex is between Tolbert, Blount, F Jackson, and Manningham/Meachem. (I’m leaning Tolbert because I see a high scoring game. I really want to gamble with Blount though)
If he’s healthy I like Tolbert a lot more than the others. He looks like he is going to be a bigger part of that offense than anyone thought. I don’t own him so I don’t know if he is healthy again, but he was hurt earlier in the week. Blount would be my number two choice of that group because if the upside.
I like Burleson, then LaFell, then Gaffney. Both LaFell and Burleson are on pass heavy teams playing relatively weak pass defenses. I think LaFell is more talented, but Burleson will likely get you more catches and yards. However, TD’s are more for LaFell, because Stafford looks to Megatron in the red zone. If it’s PPR or yardage, I’d probably go with Burleson, td only go with LaFell. I kinda like Burleson to get more targets this week as the Vikings put Winfield on CJ. Cam is still looking a lot to Steve Smith. Gaffney, to me, is just a guy. His floor is likely higher, but he has little to no chance of breaking out as big as the other two. Good Luck.
Dallas’ D is horribly banged up, and Minnesota will triple cover Calvin Johnson all day (look at East Coast Mike Williams’ numbers last week, and V-Jax’ numbers in Week 1).
Don’t trust any Carolina receivers not named Steve Smith.
I’ve got three candidates for a TE and a Flex position in a PPR league.
Rob Gronkowski @ BUF
Danny Woodhead @ BUF
Jermichael Finley @ CHI
Right now I’m going back and forth between Finley and Woodhead for the flex spot. Of course, the whole thing is moot if Hillis is out, and I put in Woodhead as RB.
You know how there’s always that one guy in the league who has all of his players die to freak injuries? I’m that guy. Jamaal Charles out for the season, Mario Manningham has a concussion, Tony Romo has cracked ribs and a punctured lung, and Kellen Winslow (my backup TE) is having knee problems.
In my other league I have five benched guys with injuries, including such hits as Marques Colston, Miles Austin, and Knowshon Moreno.
Gronkowski is a must-start as long as Hernandez is sidelined. “Must-” as in start him over anyone except possibly Antonio Gates. I’d go with Woodhead for the flex; he’s gotten plenty of carries so far.
In my money league I’m down Arian Foster AND Hillis. I’m starting Hardesty, DeAngelo Williams and Marshawn Lynch but I’m considering sticking Robert Meachem in the flex spot instead of Lynch and Williams. Thoughts?
DeAngelo Williams is almost useless in Fantasy this point. I would probably start Hardesty, Lynch, and Meachem and look hard on the waiver wire for alternatives. Dustin Keller has been criminally overlooked and I picked him off waivers in both my leagues, so he would make a good pickup.
So is that Ryan Mathew’s breakout game, or just a fluke? Tolbert has done nothing on the ground this year, under 3 YPC, but he’s been catching productive passes left and right, like a 250 pound Darren Sproles. Mathews looks like he might be getting most of the rushing load, but who knows.
