Fantasy football general discussion 2010

So in the dynasty league, Stringer was behind Varlos by 51.54 with only one player left to play. So… game over, right? Except that player was Michael Vick.

Based on our league scoring, Michael Vick put up 51.15 points. Stringer comes from back from an incredible deficit… to fall .36 points short.

In other news, you are all doomed. I just had my second week in a row where I went 4-0 after a win in 4 SDMB leagues. I think I’ve only had one week where I went 2-2, the rest were 3-1. I got off to a fast, dominating start… and I’ve only gotten stronger from there.

Interesting minor stat correction in ESPN leagues. Beanie Wells had -1 fantasy points yesterday. That’s hard to do when you’re inactive for the game.

I didn’t bother watching the MNF game because I was guaranteed a $20 money league payout for the top weekly score, and I was 45 points ahead of the closest scorer for the week. Plus, the only guy with two players left had Ryan Torain, and ESPN said he would be inactive.

The other one was Vick, who scored 57 points in NFL.com standard leagues.

Hmm, in yahoo standard scoring he only got 49. What does nfl.com (and espn.com from what they said on the broadcast) do that yahoo doesn’t? Yahoo uses 25/1 pass, 10/1 rush, 4 passing TD, 6 rushing TD.

Isn’t that standard?

Seems pretty obvious that it’s 6 points for passing touchdowns.

Ah, I thought the whole fantasy world switched away from 6.

So did I, but I mean, c’mon, a difference of exactly 8 points, and he threw four touchdown passes?

For some reason I thought he had 3 passing 2 rushing.

6 points for passing TDs on NFL.com.

No one cares but I shall make an update of my FANTASY TEAM OF DOOM in the auction league. 10 team league. Roster is QB, WR, WR, WR, RB, RB, TE, K, D/ST.

QB:
Aaron Rodgers, Michael Vick. Even missing half the season, Vick is the #7 scoring QB. His per game numbers are nuts. I don’t even know who should be my primary starter. Play matchups?

WR:
Terrell Owens, Calvin Johnson, Dwayne Boye, Andre Johnson, Deon Branch, Danny Amendola.

That’s 3 of the top 6, and another in the top 10.

RB:
Arian Foster, Peyton Hillis, LaGarrette Blount, Ronnie Brown.

That’s 2 of the top 4 scorers at RB.

TE, K, D/ST:
Antonio Gates. Best by far this year.

Rob Bironas. Top 5.

Steelers D. #3 scoring defense.

I’m always looking to make trades, and I have talent on my bench… (Bowe usually sits and he’s the #6 receiver with 8 TDs in the last 5 weeks), Blount has been solid… I’d be willing to package something like Blount + Bowe or even Hillis + Bowe but where can I even really improve my team? I guess I could pair Adrian Peterson with Foster or something, but he hasn’t even been that much better than Hillis this year.

Vick should be starting right now, no matter what.

I’m in the same boat, I have Bowe sitting on the bench every week while he catches TDs left and right. My league has one required player at every position plus TWO non-QB flex positions. My primary WR is Andre Johnson and I prefer to put RBs in the flex (MJD and Jamaal Charles).

But this week I’m not sure if I should start Johnson against the Jets or Bowe. Bleh. I know if I start Bowe he’ll do nothing, like people who buy stocks right when they peak. I’m trying to trade him but people are so damn reluctant to move anyone. Hate that.

If you want me to impregnate your wives because it will give your kids a chance at greatness, talk it over with them and I’ll find a place on my schedule for you.

Guess who forgot to update his roster and left the Chicago defense on his bench.

So I picked up and started Dreessen in two leagues for an injured Miller and Gates, thinking he was going to flourish in Houston’s offense. He put up like 14 yards and a fumble, so I gave up on him. This week, over a hundred yards and a touchdown. Blah.

He’s on my bench in the dynasty league right now. Not that it would have made any difference this week - he only scored Marcedes Lewis by 4 points, and my opponent is probably going to end up in the 170+ range.

I kept trying to trade away Peyton Hillis and Dwayne Bowe - not cause I didn’t like them because I had crazy depth in certain leagues and I trying to snatch up guys with good playoff schedules like Chris Johnson and Darren McFadden. No interest even though they’ve both done nothing but put up 25 points a week for a month…

Oh well, I guess I can play matchups - starting Bowe over Johnson and Lloyd has/will probably pay off. And I’m not actually sure there are any RB upgrades to Peyton Hillis at this point except Arian Foster, but I already own him in one of the leagues I have Hillis in.

If you told me before the season began that I’d reject Randy Moss + Jason Snelling for Steve Johnson, I’d first ask who the hell Steve Johnson was, then call you a liar, but it just happened.

He then offered Randy Moss, Visanthe Shiancoe and Sidney Rice for Steve Johnson. I’m still leaning no.

Do you need Moss or Schiancoe? The real value there is Rice. He’s going to be huge over the second half.
