Thank you, Mr. Warner’s doctor.
Harvin’s not quite as fast as everyone seems to think he is. He ran a 4.32 40 as a high school prospect, but that was hand-timed. He couldn’t break 4.4 at the NFL combine.
Yahoo is already telling me that the Lions have lost to the Packers tomorrow, 26-0. Sit your Lions!
(Yes I know that was the score of the last game, but that’s what Yahoo is saying happens in week 12 according to my team roster on their site!)
Boy am I glad I didn’t start Jennings today. 53 yards and no TDs against Detroit of all teams! Meanwhile, Driver goes off for 142 yards with 1 TD. I mean, if he can’t get his act together against Detroit, then all hope is lost on him.
In my league, two teams were tied for first going into this weekend’s games, and they played each other this week. Overnight, Meachem’s fumble recovery touchdown was classified as a TD for the Saints defense, swinging the matchup from a 2-point loss to a 4-point win for one player, and costing the other player a bye in the playoffs.
Yep - happened a few years ago with Keenan McCardell. On a play where the offense loses possession and then regains it (as opposed to scoring after recovering its own fumble) it counts as a defensive TD 'cause the offense becomes the defense.
ESPN’s Fantasy Focus Podcast discussed this play and the Meachem play from yesterday. They pretty vehemently stated that it’s not considered a defensive score using ESPNs system and the McCardell play wasn’t scored as a Defensive TD by any other provider back in the day.
They could of course be wrong, and I’ll be interested to here what they have to say about it tomorrow, but that’s one data point that disagrees.
Stupid Brett Fucking Favre.
I had my game pretty much locked up in my money league, where I hold a one game lead for the regular season title (1/3 of the $ pot). Going into the final game, I had a decent lead, and my opponent had Percy Harvin, and I had Adrian Peterson.
But no - Favre continues his ball hogging ways and throws a last minute garbage time TD to Harvin, sealing my loss. Fucker.
They are wrong. McCardell’s play was scored as a defensive touchdown by NFL.com, CBS Sportsline (which use the same scoring system), because the Elias Bureau counts it as a defensive touchdown.
Turns out I’ve already posted about it in this very thread:
Missed edit window:
I’ve got Meachem in the SDMB Dynasty league on Yahoo! and it was originally scored as an offensive touchdown return for me and it disappeared.
Oddity: In the four leagues I am playing this year, I will have completed the regular season finishing second in 3 of them (only missing in the SDMB Big League, but it’s a big miss there - no playoffs). Last year, I played 2 leagues and finished the regular season second in both of them.
We’re #2!
Yeah, it’s been switched back in my league (on Yahoo!) as well. So on Sunday under the live scoring it wasn’t counted, then yesterday it was, and now it isn’t again.
Hold off on that. One more week to go in the Auction League, and not only might I not finish second, a loss could outright knock me out of the playoffs. So, the best I could do there is - wait for it - second.
Bah. I just got knocked from 2nd to 4th in the auction league, and one more loss will knock me out of the playoffs.
You’ve all got nothing. I finished 1st in scoring in the 20 man SDMB big league, but managed to finish 15(th!) and not even come close to the playoffs. We could’ve added 6 more playoff slots and I still would’ve missed it. Ridiculous.
The guy who had the 2nd most point finished 12th.
Craziest damn league I’ve ever been in.
Hmm. So I saw that Quentin Ganther was the new starting RB for Washington, and with Portis and Betts on IR I snatched him up in all my leagues. In 3 of the leagues that’s a normal move - in two I’m in the playoffs and the other is a dynasty league and he may turn out to be a keeper. But I also unthinkingly snatched him up in the big league, where I am out of the playoffs and have no real reason to keep improving my roster (except to figure out who I could’ve beaten in the playoffs and/or keep score totals through the end of the year).
I’ve never run across this situation before since I have never had a team that failed to make the playoffs. Did I commit a faux pas by picking up a guy? Should I release him?
It should have automatically prevented you from making roster moves. Weird.
Roethlisberger is projected for very few points tomorrow by yahoo - is there something I’m missing? There’s no indication that he’s hurt, and Cleveland just gave up 7200 passing yards last week. Why the low projection?
Weather forecast. It’s going to be really shitty out there - not good passing weather.
Aha, duh. 30 mph winds, 20 degrees, and snow probably.
Should I start Hasselbeck @ Hou instead?
