Joseph Addai could be back next week vs SD, but the Colt’s run sucks (And I’m sick of waiting for Addai to return.). Currently Mike Tolbert is available on waivers. My thought- dump Addai for Tolbert this week, then use the spot in following weeks to pick up any decent player is available. I think I have decent depth at RB, but am unsure whether this short-term move is worth it. Any guesses on whether Ryan Matthews plays next week? Is the Tobert move a good idea?
My current RBs are Matt Forte, Cedric Benson, LeGarrette Blount, and Joseph Addai.
(Keiland Williams is also available, and Yahoo predicts a big game for him. However, I’m completely ignorant about Washington. Would be a good/better move?)
If you’ve got a spot open, then he’s worth a spot on the bench for depth, but he’s not going to win you your week or anything.
Washington has O line problems (mostly that it sucks, but also that it kind of sucks), and they aren’t getting any better (they just lost two more starters to injury), so he’ll probably spend a lot of time rushing into defenders at the line of scrimmage or staying in to block, though there is the possibility he picks up some points as a short yardage check-down receiver.
Then there’s their upcoming schedule: MIN, @NYG, TB, @DAL, @JAC, NYG
Half of their remaining games are against teams that are very good against the rush (Min [7] and NYG [4]). Three or four of them will be against teams jockeying for post-season position (NYG x2, TB and quite possibly Jac) and the Dallas squad will be playing for pride and revenge. Also, their defense is injured and suspect to begin with, meaning they’ll probably be playing from behind most of the time (even when they aren’t, like last week against Tennessee, McNabb made 50 pass attempts).
And now, I bet you wish you were ignorant of the Redskins again
Eh, I’d stick with Addai. I’d add Tolbert and drop a backup WR/TE/DEF and use him next week in case Addai is out another week, but come playoff time Addai is the one you’ll want. Ryan Matthews could come back and make Tolbert valueless and I have no faith in Williams at all and Portis could be coming back stronger each week.
I don’t really have a W/T* I’m comfortable dumping, that’s really the weak spot on my roster. I’d consider cutting Garcon with his shaky performance and stick with 1 Colt receiver, but Collie getting knocked out of games makes Garcon more useful (I’d kill to get Jacob Tamme right now, but he was snapped up right after Dallas Clark went on IR.). Davis has been somewhat of a bust, but I’m reluctant to get rid of someone of his caliber. Thomas seems to stand out as the person to drop with the least downside.
*- W/T are Deion Branch, Austin Collie, Mike Thomas, Pierre Garcon, and Vernon Davis.
ETA- I only have Chicago’s D, so nothing to spare there. I also just read Collie is out against SD, but his stats when he does play make me really reluctant to abandon him.
I’ve got a handcuff of Bradshaw/Jacobs in a non-SDMB league. Looks like Jacobs might be seeing more work with him being named starter. Jacobs starting for Giants
Speaking of Brandon Jacobs, should I start Jacobs or Mike (SEA) Williams? Jacobs and the Giants are going against Jacksonville while the Seahawks are going against Kansas City. I’ve also got Nate Burleson and Donald Driver further down the bench.
For that matter, for defense I’ve got New Orleans (vs Dallas) or the Giants. I’m leaning towards the Giants, but I don’t know.
