Oh man, Star Wars. I knew I was forgetting something…now where’s that 'droid…mumbles something about memory wipe
I’ve played damn near every RPG out there. I started with D&D back in 4th grade (either fall '78 or spring '79), and I recently found a character sheet that may be my very first character! I created the character in science class by following instructions passed to me on notes by the DM. I was lucky and was in the gifted program; we actually got to play AD&D in school on school time! Someday, I’ll sit down in front of a list of RPGs and actually make a list of games I’ve played; it’s fairly long (anyone else out there remember Top Secret/S.I.?).
Currently, I’m playing AD&D, Vampire LARP, Werewolf LARP, Trinity/Aeon, Aberrant, Amber Diceless RPG (I’ve truly fallen in love with the diceless system I used to sneer at when I read about it in Dragon Magazine), and I’m running a Marvel Super-Heroes campaign (the old Advanced system, not the new one with the cards).
The closest I’ve ever played to these fantasy adventure games was RISK, back in, oh, 1982. My cousins were setting up the board and all the players, taking things much to seriously, and when it was my turn to role the die, I swept my arm over the board, knocking everything to the ground and said, " I just dropped the bomb."
