Far side, loggers, splinter--is this a real comic?

I was thinking earlier today of a Far Side comic that I believe I saw years ago: two loggers sitting in a field of giant stumps, one looking at his finger, saying, “Ow! A splinter!” or something like that. But a half-hour of Googling is turning up no trace of this. Is it a real thing, or am I imagining it?

If it’s any consolation to you, I recall that one.

As well I.

Yup, I have a copy of it. Far Side Gallery 2, page 49.

Took 20 minutes of scanning through my book collection to find it, and now my brain hurts from the concentrated weird.

Dammit! I sailed right past it; scanned my whole FS collection. Now my head hurts from old book fumes.

Awesome, and dangit–I only have the first far side gallery, I think. Is that what it says–“Ow, a splinter!”?

No, I think one lumberjack was examining the other one’s hand, and commenting on the difficulty of getting the splinter removed.

Off-topic: ISTR hearing that splinters are larger shards of wood, such as might go flying through the air when a felled tree snaps off the stump and hits the ground, and that a sliver is a teensy piece of wood that kinda slides underneath your skin when you rub your hand along a rough board.

Allow me:

Awesome, thanks!

Those loggers are as big around as the trees.
