Fart book and other cool kid books.

The hamsters hate my guts and won’t jet me do a search. I’m looking for the title of a fart book mentioned by someone in a thread about cool stuff we do with our kids. Any other suggestions for cool books for kids or otherwise would be appreciated.

My suggestion would have to be “A Bad Case of Stripes” about a little girl who is very concerned with what her peers think of her. She comes down with a case of stripes that change according to what is suggested - they turn into stars and stripes during the pledge at school, etc. Really cute.

That book may be The Gas We Pass: The story of farts. There are other books by the same company, including Everyone Poops.

Lsura -

there’s also a book in that series titled Breasts. I shit you not.

If my Amazon order would EVER SHIP, that wonderful piece of literature will be on my doorstep shortly.

I bought The Day My Butt Went Psycho for LilMiss, who loved it.
I started to read it, and was quite enjoying it, when she removed it from my hands saying it wasn’t a book meant for adults. :expressionless:

(Picture detachable butts attempting to take over the world…filling a buttcano with noxious gases which would then render the populace unconscious. The butts would then take their rightful place- above our necks)

Heh… Guess I’ve been a nerd all my life. My favorite books were National Geographic’s 2-volume guide to mammals (I memorized 'em). And not to mention the scores of dinosaur books I had too. I really don’t remember reading any kids books other than Dr. Seuss stuff and the Golden Books (anyone remember those?) so I guess that’s the best suggestion I got. Not nearly as fun as the ones you guys have mentioned.

The book your looking for might be one of my personal favorites “Walter, The Farting Dog”. If you even skim through this book I bet you’ll end up taking it home with you. You can find it at most local book stores (Borders, B&N) and online.

Walter the Farting Dog

My kids cannot get enough of this book.

Not a fart book, but Dogger is possibly my favorite children’s book that I’ve found.

It is pretty hard to find, so if you do find it, buy it immediately.

I cry every time I read this story. Everyone that I’ve given copies to, over 15 and counting, have cried at how beautiful and charming it is.

I don’t know if its still in print, but if you can find it, How to Eat Like a Child by Delia Ephron is wonderful. My favorite is
How to have a pet:
Pick it up. Put it down.
Pick it up. Put it down.
Pick it up. Put it down.
Pick it up. Put it down.
Pick it up.
Mom:
“Put that poor thing down!”
Put it down.

Shirley! that’s it, that’s the one I’ve been looking for. Thanks, and I will definitely look at “Dogger” since my 2 year old can’t be separated from his “puppy”.

Thanks all - I have to check these out when I go to Barnes and Noble later this week.

**How to eat like a child **made me nearly pee my pants when I read it at 15 or 16.

Another great adult read for goofiness in general is *Dave Barry’s Babies and other Hazards of Sex book. I cried with wails of laughter when I discovered this at about 18. I’m sure it is even funnier now that I have kids.
