Farthest distance between places you've lived?

Dad was in the air force and we were posted to Australia for a year and I now live in Atlantic Canada.
10,543 miles between Canberra Australia and Moncton, New Brunswick.

5,848 miles, between Lincoln in England and Guangzhou in China. Somehow that’s almost 300 miles farther than the 5,562 miles from Lincoln to Gwangju, Korea, where I lived the year before.

6440 km or 3995 miles between Karachi Pakistan and Swindon, UK

A little under 7000 miles, from where my father was posted fifty years ago (air force, again) to where I lived when we got back; Singapore and the west of England respectively.

Longest: 11,700 miles. I was born in Saigon, Vietnam and I lived in Guayaquil, Ecuador for two years. I think I might win; it’s hard to get much farther than that with major cities.

I just did look up the distance between West Texas and Bangkok, and it’s 8900 miles.

11,683 miles: Wellington NZ to London UK.

My biggest stretch was ~1300 miles between Cleveland and Miami.

Exactly 70 miles, from where I grew up in rural southern Minnesota to my furthest-north college apartment in Minneapolis.

The Bronx, New York, to Wellington, New Zealand: 8,943 miles.

Actually it’s 11692 miles airport to airport great circle.

That’s easily beaten by Perth Western Australia to Bermuda - airport to airport at 12,389 miles compared to the theoretical maximum of 12,451 miles.

5,493 miles.

I have always lived within about a thirty minute walk from Warren Buffet…

9916 miles (15,945 km) , Buenos Aires to Kuala Lumpur with the Houston to KL move shortly behind at 9893 miles, mid you the distance form the house to the airport could send it either way.

Lifetime total for moving home , 55,133 miles (88,728km) and still probably have a few more to add to that.

11,323 miles (18,222km)

Prague, Czech Republic
Wellington, New Zealand

11,647 miles

Freiburg Im Breisgau, Germany
Wellington, New Zealand

(This is actually 324 miles further than Prague, despite Prague being further north).

I was born in San Jose, CA, but only lived there for 3 months. I’ve lived the rest of my life in suburban Chicago, Green Bay WI, and Madison WI.

(This also means that, other than those three months in San Jose, I’ve always lived within 80 miles of the western shore of Lake Michigan. )

According to Google Maps, the longest distance is from San Jose to Green Bay: 2251 miles.

Although I’ve never traveled outside the continental US, I have managed to live in many places, thanks in part to my father’s Navy career. My husband also has never been shy about relocating when the job market made doing so a good idea.

As a child - Washington, DC to Port Hueneme, CA - 2700 miles

As an adult - Austin to Chicago - 1122 miles

I know neither distance is anywhere near many of the distances posted, but we made the moves and did the best we could.

1990’s - New York (Long Island) to Melbourne - 10,353 miles
2010’s - New York to St. Petersburg - 4277 miles
