In the past half hour or so, when I’ve tried to reply to or view threads, I’ve received this error message before being able to do so:
Also, I’ve just had the connection time out on me (no big deal, as it happens all the time), but then it gave me a dialog box that said something to the effect of: “You do not have ActiveX controls installed on this computer. The page may not be seen the way it was intended to.”
Does anyone know what’s up with that?
Specifics: I’m using IE 4.0 with Windows 95.
This si the fourth time I’ve tried to post this addendum, and I’m not counting numerous timeouts. (that explains why it took over an hour to post this, when I originally thought of it right after I posted the one above)
Addendum:
In case anyone asks, I am not trying to access administrative functions. All I do is click on the thread or the “submit reply” button, and get the above-stated text.
At least it didn’t tell you that you are trying to point with (or is it to) a needle of “0” length, Flammy!!
I’ve put on my thinking hat and deduced that it has something to do with the software crapping out due to the server being overworked.
Yeah, but what are the chances of that happening, Arnold?
(insert duck-and-run smiley here)
Usually it just times me out, or gives me the “Database Error” page when the server’s overloaded, though. Thanks, Arnold. I’ve certainly never seen it before, and hope not to again, though you certainly never know.
