Fatherhood, 2nd puberty?

Does fatherhood cause any physiological changes?

I know I’m not the same anymore. My instincts desires and priorities have changed as dramatically as they did when I hit puberty.
Most of my friends became fathers in the last few years and it’s pretty much the same for them as well.

Have I been changed through the behavior modification program my progeny has put me through, as well as by society, or do I have programmed in instincts kicking in, and changing the chemical makeup of my brain and whatnot?

What changes me, nature or nurture?

Well I do know that mothers don’t finish developing till they have a baby. So its probably same for the father. Though, shouldent this be in GQ?

'Strewth. Evidently there are fatherhood hormones.

Er, huh? You wanna expand on that a little, Asmodean?

The idea that I was a slave to my biochemistry in this was just a WAG. I couldn’t find any links to support it, so I concluded there were none.

I was going to debate the issue if any cared to assert that the answer was solely “nurture.” I was pretty sure that it was a debatable question.

It may still be since what parts are nature, and what parts are nurture, and to what degree is still an open question as is what triggers any hormonal changes.

Thanks, Duck Duck Goose for the great links.

I’m also pretty sure that Asmodean has a debate coming if he comes back

(If a mod thinks it should be moved though, that’s ok by me. Don’t I get to automatically start a pit thread if this happens?)
