My favorite is Heath bars (or their identical twin Skor). However, they aren’t usually very easy to find.
After that, I’d have to vote for Cadbury’s Flake, although I have never found anything like it in the States.
If I am standing in a grocery store line, and HAVE to buy a candy bar, I generally get Hershey’s with Almonds, if they don’t have Heath/Skor or Midnight Milky Way.
Hey, it’s easy to think of candy bars that are good. What about candy bars that aren’t good? Like Charleston Chew, Big Hunk, Zagnut, Zero and B-B-Bats, to name a few?
Hey, Big Hunks are great, and Look (the chocolate-coated version) is even better. I have too many crowns in my mouth to risk eating 'em now, though. But the all-time menace to dental work is the Abba Zaba, which I swear has an outer shell of sweetened epoxy. It’ll pull every filling out of your head.
First choice is Kit Kat. Second is Almond Joy or Mounds (depending on mood). Third is Take Five. Fourth is Payday.
Payday moves up to the #1 position if I’m actually hungry instead of snicky snacky and all I have is a vending machine. They are filling and not so sweet that they make me feel ill.
That cherry thing sounds interesting. Can someone describe?
Cherry Ripe is a Cadbury product from Australia… It’s a thinner, flatter bar, not a narrower, thicker one. A mash of ground cherry and coconut is coated with a rich dark, creamy chocolate. IMHO, it’s great.
My favorite candy bar of all time was the Bar None. If I had known they were going to stop making them, I would have bought crates of them and stuck them in a deep freeze somewhere. I miss my Bar None (Not to be confused with the Bar One which available here in South Africa, and, I believe, in Europe.)
Make that the (original) Bar None sans caramel, and I agree. I miss that candy bar too. Guylian shells, Cadbury Flakes or some kind of dark chocolate are my favorites. I like Dove’s dark chocolate ok.
