Favorite episode of MST3K

How could I forget to mention The Creeping Terror?

With the slooooowest monster (manos doesn’t count) and rastiest teen dance scenes.

Anyone have an idea who the most prolific director, actress, and actor appeared in MST3K episodes?

Unfortunately, I don’t get SciFi, but I have many fond memories from when MST3k was on Comedy Central.

Fave ep: The Day the Earth Froze. (“What’s a sampo?” “Maybe it’s a strapless red evening gown.” “You think everything is a strapless red evening gown.”)
Also, Santa Claus Conquers the Martians, if only because of Patrick Swayze Christmas (“It’s my way or the highway, that’s Christmas at my ba-a-ar/I’ll have to bash your kneecaps if you bastards touch my car.”) Also, they have the Roadhouse Board Game as invention exchange.

And has NO ONE mentioned Gamera? (“Hirohito Gamera, hirohito Gamera, Gamera is really neat, Gamera is turtle meat, we’re all eating Gamera!”)

Is Mitchell the episode where they sing “Big Stupid to the Rescue”?

Fave short: Hired!, Mr. B Natural, and whatever the title of the short on posture. It’s classic.

BTW, I know what the sampo is. And I read about it in Newsweek. The sampo comes from the Finnish national myth, and it’s exactly what it looks like in the movie - it’s a magical thing that pours out gold and rock salt. I swear to god, Newsweek mentioned this in an article on new technologies in Finland.

Maybe that “Leech Woman” actress, Colleen Grey? She starred in at least two of those 50’s SF movies that I know of offhand, (Leach Woman and and Phantom Planet) I’m pretty sure she appeared in a few others as well (Was Johnny Rocco ever on MST3K?).

Two’s not many, though. “The Great Varelli” was in at least two as well. And Joe Don Baker, and Mr. “You’re hittin the BOOZE again.” And Sonny Chiba(!) was in a couple as well. And Cathy Downs. And Robert Z’Dar. I can’t find anyone who was for sure in more than two, though. Maybe someone was in all those Gamera movies?

Graydon Clark, maybe? He was in at least two, (Final Justice, and Angels Revenge) and several that might have been on. (Joysticks? Satan’s Cheerleaders?) Or John Agar? (Mole People and Revenge of the Creature, and his list of possibles is nearly endless)

Maybe someone who’s seen more of the CC episodes than me should be looking through imdb, instead of me. Though, I did find out that one of the guys from The Deadly Mantis was in Myra Breckenrigde. And that, surely, is worth something.

Apparently, if you liked Final Justice, you’ll like Face/Off. At least according to imdb.

My favorite of the twenty-five or so episodes that I’ve seen is Manos: the Hands of Fate. I’m not even sure if it’s the bots. Might just be Torgo. “There is no way out of here. It’ll be dark soon… There is no way out of here.”

I really liked the Puma Man episode for some reason. There’s something funny about an Aztec Puma God thingy showing up in England.

My favorite scene, though, is the “potato” thing from Pod People, although overall I didn’t like the episode that much. I also like the Goosio (“friend of Maltese children”) skit from Final Justice.

I don’t know about actor or actress, but I’m gonna guess that the director has to be Burt I. Gordon. The master of cheese himself. I know I’ve seen at least six different episodes he directed, and I’m sure there are many more.

Holy moly – I just remembered Burt I. Gordon’s Tormented. Freakin’ hilarious! The little girl dressed up in the sailor suit, and the blind housekeeper… “Is she wearing a life vest under that shirt?”

Every time I read this thread, I remember another episdode, and then sit at my desk giggling. My officemate must think I’m nuts.

Hastur wrote:

It absolutely, positively, definitely has to be “The United Servo Academy Men’s Chorus” that they did during The Starfighters.

Well, that and “Tubular Boobular Joy,” which I’ve memorized the lyrics to. Oh, and “Let’s Have a Patric Swayze Christmas” from Stanta Claus Conquers the Martians. Yeah, absolutely positively definitely.

“Well, that and “Tubular Boobular Joy,” which I’ve memorized the lyrics to.”

—OK, Tracer, I see your challenge! Let’s HAVE all the lyrics to Tubular, Boobular Joy!

I second Eve’s motion! Lyrics please!

Um…how do we know you won’t go to Ward E and cheat?
ha ha!

Pod People

And Gamera vs Zigara

Tom: Say, fellas. There sure is a lot of skin in this movie, isn’t there?
Mike: There sure is!
Crow: (as Jimmy Durante): Yet, despite all the acres of flesh, in this film I just can’t come up with a word to describe it.
Tom: Well, I can!
Mike: You can?
Tom: Why sure! (singing) It’s breastica-boob-ical, chestica-mamm-ical. Pendular, globular fun!
Mike: Flesh-ical, orbital, mound-ular, scoop-ular?
Tom: Right-o! That’s the one!
Crow: Is it glutial maximal, tush-ital, crack-ular, bun-ular, morning 'til night?
Tom: Well, you’re abso-to-glandular fanny fantastical
Masta-ca-flesh-ular right!
All: It’s area-logical, auto-erotical, toobular, boob-ular joy! An expose-ular regional, batch-ular pouch-ular fun for girl and boy! A latisima-dorsical, hung-like-a-horse-ical, calipa-ligical ball!
Crow: A most bun-ular, fun-ular
Mike: Fruit of the Loom-ular
Crow: French-ical tongue-ular
Tom: Whop-ita boob-ular
Mike: Movie of them alllllllllll!!!
All: Hey!!!

Well, my two favorites have already been named.
Manos: The Hands of Fate (“Get that cat off the piano!”) and Daddy-O (“Come rub this BUTTER on me now.”)

So I guess there’s really no reason for me to post to this thread now.

It would be truly pointless.

Mundane, too.

Hitting submit now.

Alright—all together now!

Whop-ita boob-ular!!!

not to hijack this thread but I’m trying to see if there are any chicago dopers who might be up for a
MSTK3 Dopefest extravaganza!

Mmm, I would but it’s 5-6 hours to Chicago from Auburn, MI…

No one’s mentioned favorite!

<sung>
The Girl In Lover’s Lane
(With Jack Elan (not Jack Lelane)
And all these other folks
There’s just to much to name)
etc
</sung>
I mean, it stars a character (nick)named Bigs Tupid. How can you not love that one?

And only one person’s mentioned my other favorite

Santa Claus (Or some such like that. Not Vs the Martians. Some cheezy Mexican(?) flick where Santa kicks Satan’s ASS!
It features some bizarre theology wherein Satan tries to tempt little boys and girls, but by believing in the power of Santa, they can be saved.

“Santa’s increasing paranoia begins to hamper operations at the Klaus organizaion”

Best Short?
That Circus On Ice short.
“These two girls; they are quite the pair
They both come from your worst nightmare
They will haunt your soul forever
And when you see pink, you’re gonna think “We’re doomed”…”

“Eeeww! She skated over her own intestines!”
“The meat will not be good”

“Imagine if you were the sort of person who enjoyed this!”

“Hey! You got your Ice in my Circus!”
“You got your circus in my Ice”
“Two bad things that get worse together.”

Darn. I wasn’t keeping up with this thread, and Hastur beat me to it.

Then again, I alwasy like writing out the lyrics to Tubular Boobular Joy as though they’re made up entirely of huge polysyllabic words without hyphens.

And so, without looking at Hastur’s post, I present My Own Favorite Spelling of the Lyrics to Tubularboobular Joy, from Memory:

"It’s breasticaboobical chesticamammical pendularglobular fun
Fleshicalorbal and Moundularscoopular? Right-o, that’s the one!

Gypsy: “Hey, guys, how’s the movie?”

Was just dubbing a friend’s copy of Teenage Caveman and saw the short Catching Trouble and the following host segment Catching Ross. Am I the only one who joined Joel and the bots in rooting for the snake?
