Favorite fictional vehicles? (NOT including spacecraft)

One of Keith Laumer’s Bolo tanks, the perfect commuter vehicle, especially for clearing out those crowded lanes.

And as long as you’re talking about Deathmobiles then the much-modified 1964 slab-sided Lincoln from the Animal House finale has a certain coolth factor.

Ranchothdoes Optimus Prime count as a vehicle?

And don’t forget that Stingray from that show I used to watch-What was the name of that show again?

I’ll take Greased Lightning, but only if leather-clad Olivia comes with it.

Or maybe the evil walking spider from Johnny Quest for my commute.

That’s because Robert Zemeckis once said in an interview that the Hoverboards in the movie are actual Mattel prototypes. You can see the interview on the DVD.

Ooh, I’ll second the evil walking spiders from Johhny Quest. Those things would be the safest commuter vehicle you could get: it took a battalion of tanks to destroy two of them! The morons who talk on their cellphones while driving down the freeway at 75 mph would be history

Big deal. The Mach 5 could take out an entire battalion of tanks, even without a chimp in its trunk.

Czarcasm… are you talking about the black 1965 Stingray from that Nick Mancuso show in the mid-80’s? I thought I was the only person who ever watched that!

Yeah, that’s the one… sort of a proto-Pretender. You couldn’t remember the name of the show either?

A quick glance at Nick Mancuso’s IMDB page yields that the show was called…drumroll…STINGRAY , for one season on NBC

The color of whooshed is, well, blue, it seems.

Gee, thanks! Perhaps you could help us with the title of that movie about a yellow submarine?

No one has mentioned the ultra-cool Black Beauty yet?

A 1966 Chrysler heavily modifed by Dean Jeffries and driven by Bruce Lee as Kato, and Van Williams as The Green Hornet.

Those are the Cyclones I mentioned in my post - and are from the New Generation, not Masters. (At least I don’t remember Cyclones or anything resembling them in the Masters saga, which concentrated mostly on a Hovertank squadron. They were certainly more important in the New Generation - And Sentinels.)

That’s because the Black Beauty would be beaten into black metallic pulp by the Adam West-mobile.

Ummm I want a Flintstones car.

Not if the Black Beauty was well prepared…

I’d go for a Jonny Quest jetpack myself, or the time-travelling DeLorean.

I haven’t picked out a make or model yet, but I am very interested in aquiring:

-A transforming motorcycle/battle armor (or maybe just the battle armor)

-A 50 foot fighting robot with multiple rockets, an oversized cannon and maybe even a sword

-A speeder bike (but only for flying through the woods at 400 mph)
Also:
-The Ghostbuster’s Ecto 1 (WEEoooo WEEEoooo WEEEEoooo)

-A “Spinner” (flying car) from Blade Runner

Maybe a gyro-stabalized unicycle:

(guess it won’t be fictional much longer…at least it’s not all corney like those Segways)

You’re right about the series.

But the Masters series did show people on vectored-thrust hoverbikes. Cool, too.
