Who is your favorite hometown player (all-time) on your least favorite home team?
For me, it’s Ray Bourque. I’m not a puckhead, but admit I got misty when he won his Cup with the Avs.

Isaac Bruce for the St. Louis Rams. Played through all the bad years to shine on the Greatest Show on Turf teams.
Troy Polamalu. He just seems like a ridiculously nice guy - it’s too bad he plays for the Steelers.
Not a player, but I love Tommy Lasorda, as a baseball personality. And I hate the Dodgers almost as much as I hate the Yankees, which is very much.
When I followed the NFL and the Redskins, I was a huge Art Monk fan. Now, I don’t follow football, I hate the Redskins, their name and their owner, but Art Monk is still awesome.
The Yankees are the scum of the Earth, but I loved Don Mattingly as a kid and still do. Jim Abbott and David Cone and David Wells were pretty great as well.
Man, remember when you used to be able to hate the Yankees but still respect their players? I miss those days.
Least favorite player from non home team: Ray Lewis (needs no explaination)
Chris Kluwe. Outspoken, well-spoken, and a gaming geek. Why, oh why, does he have to be a frakin’ Viking?
Lions kicker Jason Hanson. Played for 21 years always reliable and the Lions always stink.
When I was growing up in Peoria, IL, I was a fan of Bradley’s college basketball team. They were really good the first couple of years I followed them, in large part because they had my favorite player Hersey Hawkins (who would later have a moderately successful NBA career). When he graduated, they started to suck, and I became a fan of league rival Southern Illinois Salukis instead.
I grew up as a New York area sports fan. I’m weird in that I follow and like both football and both baseball teams as long as they aren’t played head to head. So to go with the criteria and pick a team I don’t root for I’ll have to go Knicks. From the Knicks I always liked Bernard King.
Least favorite home team? That’s easy, the Milwaukee Bucks. If you looked at the sports hierarchy in this state right now, the Bucks would not even make the top five. Some might even struggle placing them in the top ten.
Favorite home player on least favorite home team right now? Larry Sanders. Or, as the interwebs have taken to calling him, LARRY SANDERS!
