Luther Vandross is in the hospital recovering from a stroke. Since I’m sure he reads the SD message boards (I mean, everyone does, right?), let’s cheer him up by posting our favorite Vandross song.

I only have a couple of his tapes, but the one I love is the old Carpenters remake, “Superstar”, ('don’t you remember you told me you loved me baby, said…).
He does it very well, check it out.
Here And Now.
But I must admit that unless it got heavy airplay, I never heard it.
There are no bad Luther songs. I want him out of the hospital in time to sing “Happy Birthday” to me in May. I promise to swoon.
I can’t believe there weren’t more posts to this thread, so I’m bumping it. I thought everybody loved Luther! Plus, I just saw that there was a “candlelight vigil” held for Luther last night, so it seems not much improvement is being shown.
A couple recent favorites from Luther:
He remade the “One Shining Moment” song for CBS and the NCAA basketball tournament in April. I have always thought that was the perfect song for him. Too bad he couldn’t have been singing it for the first time for my beloved Jayhawks!!
Also, he appeared last year in that Michael Jackson tribute concert. I taped it and must have played Luther’s version of “Man in the Mirror” a hundred times. It brought tears to my eyes!!!
Here’s to you, Luther!
Well, as far as his voice, I celebrate his entire catalogue.
As far as songs, I like his work with Change on (I think it’s called) The Glow Of Love; it’s that album that’s white with that abstract art on it. And, I really like Never Too Much.
I really hope he gets well reasonably soon.
I also agree that there’s no such thing as a bad Luther song! To be honest, one of my favorites is his newer one “Take You Out”. I love the sweetness of that song. Class all the way.
“House Is Not A Home” is another classic.
