GMC Typhoon with my kids or a GMC Syclone for just me.
Another vote for Tesla Model S.
There are certainly a lot of cars I would buy if I could - I am particularly fond of BMWs (I know, I know - shuddup!)
But for a dream car - it’s the Tesla.
BMWs are really nice cars, but they suffer from bloat.
The current 3-series sedans and 4-series coupes are about the same size as earlier-generation 5-series cars. The 3-series used to be nice compact sedans and coupes with good engines and dynamics, but i don’t think i’d buy one anymore, because they’ve gotten too big. I might go with the 2-series coupe, which gets nice reviews, although i don’t like the styling quite as much.
If i had the money for a BMW, i’d look for a top-notch used E46 M3 coupe or, if i needed a larger car, an E39 M5.
yes, very modern.
Eh, only if you can dream up a few thousand more recharging stations to go along with it. ![]()
I agree that Teslas are not yet really ready for road trips, although here in California there are actually quite a few charging stations.
I could do, conservatively, 99.9 percent of my day-to-day driving with a Tesla, and probably about 90-95 percent of my vacation and leisure driving. For long road trips, renting a car in California is cheap. And not many Tesla owners only own one car anyway. They probably take the Porsche out when they want a weekend in the mountains.
