Favorite music videos ever

I don’t remember the name of the band or song, but it kept spinning, and spinning, and spinning at different angles. At one point I think it started spinning in the opposite direction. That was a trip and a half.

Has anybody seen the new KoRn video “Falling Away From Me?” Fred Durst did a pretty good job of directing that one. He seems to be a director who really doesn’t go for the drawn out ones, or the ones with loads of special effects. Fred just gets the job done, and I think it’s evident in this video. Well done, Fred.

The Radiohead video for “No Surprises.” That’s the one where Thom Yorke has his head in a space helmet filled with water.

Where (when) do you all see these videos? Whenever I turn on MTV or VH1, they’re showing gameshows, or rockumentories or movies or pretty much everything but music videos.

I thought they started VH1 because MTV was so full of other crap they didn’t have time to play actual music videos anymore. Well now VH1 is full of not-music-videos also. I guess they’ll be rolling out VH2 any day now.

It is too clear, and so it is hard to see.

SunsetLightning I love that Foo Fighters video for Learn to Fly. Is there more than one that they dress up like women in?

Satan - is the Metallica video you’re talking about the one that’s taken from Johnny Get Your Gun… or something like that? That’s so close, but not quite it. Weird book, weird movie, weird Metallica video.

Stevie Rave On, you named my all time favorite, Chemical Brothers’ Let Forever Be. I’ve seen it only three times but WOW what a video. MTV’s website had part of it available for viewing… let’s see if it’s still there… Here it is: Let Forever Be

My faves:

Blink 182’s All the Small Things - It’s priceless, the way they make fun of other videos… especially at the end when the lead singer winks at the camera, it pulls back and he’s on the toilet!

LEN’s Steal My Sunshine - When I first saw it, I thought that the guy and girl were a couple - they just hug each other and joke around… thought they were cute. A few days later, I found out a few days later that they’re brother and sister. Even cooler. Made me miss my brother.

Bif Naked’s Moment of Weakness - What a cool way to let a guy know what a jerk he is… Show up at his office and sing him a thrashin’ song. She’s my hero.

ZenBeam, I watch videos first thing in the morning while doing crunches.

I’ve only seen a couple Foo Fighters videos, but the ones I’ve seen have been awesome. Monkey Wrench had the whole band cloned and looking at themselves through a window in a door. Everlong had Dave Grohl dressed up again. I love that video! I don’t recall any other videos right now, but that’s only because I’m not in the best thinking mood. By the way, All the Small Things is a great video.

Mock me if you will, but one of the best recent videos I’ve seen was Prodigy’s “Smack My Bitch Up”. So far, I’ve seen it twice, and I was impressed that MTV was willing to show it unedited.

If you’ve seen it, you know what I mean…

I only saw it once and I don’t remember the title or even how the song went, but it was by the Replacements. It’s a shot of an upstairs window, someone puts a speaker on the ledge, and the song starts and that’s the whole video: the shot of this speaker in the window.

I could never sleep my way to the top/'cause my alarm clock always wakes me right up.

Anybody who’s seen the unedited version of Smack My Bitch Up needs to tell me how it was. I’ve heard interesting things about it…many interesting things…and the song was pretty sweet, so I’d like to know.

Oh yeah, that video of the guy on fire they used to show on Beavis and Butthead. Anyone know the name of the band?

So many videos I love!
Coffee and TV- Blur
Bittersweet Symphony- Verve
Take A Picture- Filter
Learn to Fly- Foo Fighters
Sourgirl- Stone Temple Pilots (one of the coolest looking videos ever)
Why Does It Always Rain On Me?- Travis
Please and One(Version 1) both by U2 (I think I’ve mentioned U2 in most of my posts so far. Nothing’s wrong with an obsession.)

The Red Strokes, Garth Brooks
Foolish Pride, Travis Tritt
Who Needs You Baby, Clay Walker

There are just some topics that I have no worries about duplicating anyone’s answers.

Bone Thugs 'n Harmony’s Crossroads video.

Love that. One of my favorite videos. Just all-around good stuff.
-SSB

I would have to pick among others:

“My Name Is” by Eminem
“Tha Crossroads” by Bone Thuggs n Harmony
“My Name is Mud” by Primus
“Amish Paradise” by Weird Al
“Fish Heads” by Barnes and Barnes
“Devil’ Haircut” by Beck

Touch of Gray – The Dead
"The cow is givng kerosene.
She can’t read at seventeen.
The words she knows are all obscene
But, it’s all right.

I know this one! The band’s name is Wax. Don’t ask how the hell I remember this one.

How about “Dreams” by Van Halen, just the song in the background with the Blue Angels going through their paces. Is a good one

I’m guessing then that the song is “California.”

Flip yourself all over to country videos and watch until they play “How Do Ya Like Me Now” by Toby Keith. The best revenge video/song ever. It starts out as a love song, sort of, but then…whoa Nelly!

Cordially,

Myron M. Meyer
The Man Who

True Faith & Do the Evolution were already mentioned.
I love “Bizarre Love Triangle” also by New Order.
“Ouija Board” by Morrissey
Most of the music I like doesn’t have videos :frowning:

Def Leppard: Me and My Wine - looks like it cost about 10 quid to make and the bit where Steve Clark falls on his drunken backside is beyond priceless.

Also the parody of Bittersweet Symphony, but I forget who did it now.
