Favorite Mystery Science Theater 3000 episodes?

A movie doesn’t have to be bad to be riffable.

You are correct. Much of the riffing for Clonus and Riding With Death were simply 70’s references. Of course, the 50’s also seem to get a good roasting too, mainly in the shorts.

I have to say, Teenagers from Outer Space is a very funny episode. I’m watching it now and love it.

By the way, here is a list of what I have seen lately. After getting my Roku for Christmas, I’ve been putting about one episode or so a day.

What key ones have I missed? Don’t worry if they stream on Netflix or now.

santa claus
manos hands of fate
final sacrifice
hobgoblins
pod people
overdrawn at the memory bank
skydivers
werewolf
final justice
mitchell
soultaker
devil fish
eegah
cave dwellers
hercules against the moon men
attack of the giant leeches
the killer shrews
wild world of bat woman
future war
screaming skull
fire maidens of outer space
zombie nightmare
Jack Frost
first spaceship on venus
monsters a go go
horrors of spider island
racket girls
time chasers
blood waters of dr. z
teenagers from outer space

One of my favorite riffs is still:

“How much Keefe is in this movie?”
“Miiiiiles O’Keefe!”

Hmm…Space Mutiny, The Girl in Lovers’ Lane, Red Zone Cuba, The Final Sacrifice, Merlin’s Shop, The Phantom Planet…those are a few really good ones I don’t see listed there.

Thanks, but Final Sacrifice is listed.

Zap Rowzdower.

I still laugh at that name.

It’s the Speedy Delivery Guy! And has he got a package!

Absolutely true – the Rifftrax oeuvre is filled with good movies (eg, Jaws, LOTR:FOTR) with absolutely hysterical riffing.

ETA: to respond to the OP – Starfighters, Santa Claus, Teenagers from Outer Space, Space Mutiny, Prince of Space, Giant Spider Invasion, ISCWSLABMUZ, Werewolf, Devil Doll, Puma Man…

I think so too, but some folks say it’s just TORCHA!

Ditto! This was the first episode I caught on Comedy Central, I believe.I laughed so hard I woke my room-mates up at 3 am.

“It is everything… and nothing”
“Ah, could you be a little more vague, please?”

Who could pick just one?? However, the only time in my life that i ever fell off the couch laughing was during Puma Man. "Air is pretty!

Watching “Devil Doll” right now.

“After years of waiting, you are finally going to get to see the remaining 10% of my butt!”

Great line.

“Mommy?”
“Daddy?”
“Puma?”
“Chief?”
“McCloud!”

I almost peed myself when I first heard that on Pod People.

I also think that a movie doesn’t necessarily have to be bad in order to be good riffing material. I would love to see The Wizard of Oz riffed. And I think the Peter Jackson “Lord of the Rings” trilogy was done on Rifftrax.

“Lost Continent”, starring Caesar Romero, Hugh Beaumont, and someone else I can only remember by his Mst-ied nickname, “Monkey Boy”. The interminable rock climbing led to a short few scenes of toy dinosaurs, which probably were borrowed from other movies.

That’s the first one I showed to my dad. At one point they unleashed a barrage of jokes culminating with Caesar Romero saying according to his calendar it’s the 20th Century, not 200 million B.C., and Crow riffing back that he had a Chippendale’s calendar. My dad almost choked to death, but was a fan from then on.

The Starfighters just became one of my favorites.

“Flying a plane is like making love to a woman.”

Crow: “You have to pay for it?”

“I’m not being sacrificed, ha ha, Sherri, ha ha!”

I came in here solely to mention Pod People:

“Boy, Trumpy, you can do stupid things.”

And the song!

“With the pickle mind, we pick the nipple beer
Steady as she goes, we’re flying over trout
Ghetto down the highway at the speed of light
All I wanna feel now is the wind in my eyes
Sack o’monkeys in my pocket, my sister’s ready to go”

I just Netflixed this one last weekend. What I like about it is that Hugh Beaumont seems to be so amused by the whole thing. Watch him during the rock-climbing sequence–during one of the “butt-grabbing” scenes where he’s sitting in the background, he puts his head down on his arms to hide that he can’t help laughing.
