Baseball Simulator 1.000 is fun too
Baseball Stars isn’t just the best sports game for the NES, it’s one of the top games in the console’s entire catalog.
That’s the one I came in to say. I loved that game as a kid. The special pitches were just awesome. I actually could hold my own against the computer–the only sports game I’ve played where that’s the case. (I haven’t played any of the more recent more casual games.)
All this time I thought the number was 2000, and so I hadn’t been able to find it to put on my Game Boy Advance flashcart. So thanks, dude.
Another sporst game I loved was NBA Jam, which I played a lot with friends. Eventually traded it for Super Mario All-Stars, but I still loved it. There’s something about having a special mechanic that lets you have “super powers” that makes sports games fun for me. Too bad this thread is only for NES games.
Other than Mike Tyson’s Punch Out (fuck you Mr. Dream), the only other NES sports game worth a damn is Pro Wrestling.
