Favorite Non-Caucasian Actpersons

Not sure of the PC designations of either of the terms in the title, so I’d welcome an update on either.

That aside, who should be up for the award(s) for male and female acting in a motion picture or TV show?

Males:

Samuel L. Jackson
Toshiro Mifune
Don Cheadle
Laurence Fishburne

Females:

CCH Pounder
Alfre Woodard
Halle Berry
Joan Chen

I think Morgan Freeman’s pretty good.

Akiko Wakabayashi. But only because she was a babe.

John Cho from Off Centre! He was hilarious, and the show wasn’t half-bad either. But it’s cancelled. And Everybody Loves Raymond keeps on going…
Oh, and I also really enjoyed the work of that one black extra on Friends.

John Leguizamo.
Laurence Fishburne.
Ang Lee, John Woo and Akira Kurosawa, directors.
Yaphet Kotto, I wish he would work more often.

Yup, Toshiro Mifune. Also Theresa Harris, a beautiful black actress of the 1930s, who really stole the few scenes she had. Anna May Wong was pretty terrifc, too.

Does “Hispanic” or “Latin” count? In that case, golly: Ramon Novarro, Lupe Velez, Dolores Del Rio, Desi Arnaz . . .

My favorite non-caucasian actperson is Halle Berry, because of her front-mounted fatty extrusions.

'Course, Halle is HALF caucasian… but you gotta love those fatty extrusion funbags. Hey, girls!

Veering from “front-mounted fatty extrusions” (BAND NAME!), let me mention Louise Beavers–she frequently played the some ind of roles Hattie McDaniel did, but I think she was actually a subtler actress, with a softer touch.

Hell yeah John Leguizamo. And I’ve always loved Gedde Watanabe, I don’t know why. And Mekhi Pfifer (sp?) is seriously sexy.

Samuel L. Jackson (my favorite actor)

Morgan Freeman has been one of my fave actors for a long time. As for Halle Berry, I think she’s pretty good; hubby will go to see anything that displays said “fatty extrusions”!

Who, by the way, should have at least gotten Virginia Rappe to the hospital . . .

I think Eamon Walker is way over-looked, Said was the only reason I watched OZ.

I would pay to watch Morgan Freeman read the phone book. And Alfre Woodard is amazing.

We might also mention Will Smith. Not quite as cool as Samuel L. Jackson, but much funnier.

And speaking of reading the phone book, James Earl Jones.

I’m sure I had some females in mind, too, but mention of Ms. Berry’s ahem finer qualities seems to have driven them from my mind…

Angela Basset

and the beautiful Ming-Na (Wen) of The Joy Luck Club and E.R.

Audra McDonald
Tamlyn Tomita
Wanda Sykes (funniest woman on TV right now)
CCH Pounder
Lynne Thigpen
Justina Machado (aka Vanessa Diaz on Six Feet Under)
Lauren Velez

BD Wong
Courtney B. Vance
Freddy Rodriguez
Brian Stokes Mitchell
Samuel L. Jackson

Am I showing age?

Sydney Poitier

Forever!
