The “washed up crusty” episode is my favorite. The whole episode is great, and it end with my favorite little Simpson surprise-- the “Canyonairo” SUV commercial
“. . . .unexplained fires are a matter for the courts. . . .”
Heh, I LOVE that song. I think its Hank Williams Jr. that sings it.
Runner up- 101 Damations parody episode with the “See my Vest” song by Mr. Burns. Bart is right- the song is catchy.
“Brother from the Same Planet” with David Hyde Pierce as Cecil Terwilliger. That episode just worked wonderfully.
I keep imagining an episode with the Terwilliger brothers being in NYC on 9/11. Image Bob’s outrage at the events. Since David Angell, the creator and executive producer of Fraiser, was sadly on the first plane, it’s also fitting (in a very macabre sort of way).
Besides the ones already mentioned, I’m quite partial to the “Homer joins the NRA” one. So many good lines in that one, I don’t think I can remember them all.
Homer is waiting for the background check, while a bunch of ducks, a Target truck, and Patty and Selma all go past the house.
Homer: “A gun is not a weapon, it’s a tool, like an alligator, or a harpoon.”
Homer shoots open a can of beer and shoots on the TV. The other gun club members are aghast. Agnes Skinner: “I’ve never seen such recklessness.” Cletus: “Are you some kind of moe-ron?”
I kinda like the one with the toy store, where Homer tries to take Bart out to help make him “Not turn gay.” The scene with the disco refinery is classic.
The return of Sideshow Bob was great. As was the monorail.
And the episode where Bart and Milhouse get the squishy made of pure syrup. “I don’t know where you pixies came from, but I sure do love your pixie juice.”
But overall, probably the Baseball episode is the best. Plus, I like the little song at the end.
Or maybe the one where the boys pitch in to buy the first issue of Radioactive Man. Or the episode with the movie filming.
GAH!!! IT’S TOO HARD!!! AAAAAHHHHH!!!::brain explodes:::
Really? I suppose it’s just locally then. But I could of sworn I heard about an announcement from Matt Groening. The only time I’ve seen it since is on tape.
I’m glad they didn’t ban such a classic (plays opening notes of “The Entertainer”)
