Favorite Simpsons

So… whats everyones favorite Simpsons episode and why? Mine would have to be the Tomacco one. I just like the ending, the bad guys get killed by a sheep, the sheep survives the crash, the family returns home, and Homer gets shot. Its all you can ask for in an episode. :stuck_out_tongue:

They’re culminating a three month long series of debates and polls about just that topic.

my favorite was “Ned Flander’s Soujourn”.
This is the one wher ned and Homer go to Las Vegas and (to noone’s surprise) get into all kinds of trouble.
It’s my favorite because the Moody Blues made a guest appearance.
Anything with the Moodies is allright by me.

Either the Monorail episode or the Australia episode.

My all-round favorite has to be “Shari Bobbins.” Packed with laffs.

I think I’m going with “The Mysterious Voyage of Homer,” where he eats the Guatamalan insanity peppers and has the vision quest with the Johnny Cash-coyote in the desert/sand trap. And there’s hot pants in it! Second runner-up may be “Behind the Laughter,” which is so dead-on it can’t not be included.

Picking a favorite Simpsons episode is like picking a favorite guppy. They’re all so big and shiny.

I like the ones jam packed with celebs for some reason. My all-time favorite is the one with all the baseball players. (The reasons they all end up not coming to the game are hilarious! Mike Sosa with radiation poisoning: “Can’t…lift…arm. Or…speak…at…normal…rate…”)

Runner-up is Hullabalooza. (I love when Peter Frampton says he got the flying pig at Pink Floyd’s yard sale, then yells at Sonic Youth to get out of his cooler. Also “This place smells like Otto’s jacket!”)

For touchy-feelyness, I love the one where Lisa is in love with her teacher, Mr. Bergstrom (Dustin Hoffman.) Very sweet and realistic.

The one where the comet is heading towards Springfield. So many delicious Simpsons gags, and the finest stereotypes are present. (I can distinctly recall classic gags with Homer, Bart, Skinner, Frink, Moe, and Patty & Selma.)

The Bigger Brothers episode is easily the best. It has everything:

“trab pu kcip”
“Don’t say revenge! Don’t say revenge!”; “Revenge”
“You’re not the only one who can abuse a non-profit organisation!”
Starfish used an ninja throwing star thingies.
“‘Lurnd’, Pepe - it’s pronounced ‘lurnd’”

The monorail one
“Yes, one more question. You there, eating the paste”
“Yes son, I’m the best mono-thingy guy there ever was”
“Bart, are we gonna die?” “Uh huh, but at least we’re going to take a lot of innocent people with us”
“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have stopped for that haircut.”

The one where Homer works for Hank Scorpio
“Homer, if you could kill someone on your way out it would help me a lot”
“Maybe it blew up on its own.” “We can’t take that chance” “Aww, you always say that, I want to take a chance”

Those two stand out, but I could go on for hours and hours and hours and hours about my other favorites ones.

The spring break episode has got to be the most solid one from start to finish:

“No, Bart cannot deliver a human kidney to Amsterdam!”

I also dig “Radar Love” being played while the boys drive through the cornfields.

The insanity pepper one is up there on my list too:

“Hey Homer, find your soulmate!”
“Wait a second, dogs don’t talk!”
“Woof, woof!”
“Damn straight!”

The New York City ep. Sorry if I offend or upset anyone, but, dammit, every joke was funny. “I’ll take the crab juice.”

Lisa becomes a vegetarian.

X-Files episode
“The turtle bit me with my own teeth!”
“Quick guys, we’ve got to get him back to Sea World”
“Needs more dogs”
“Who thought a whale would weigh so much?”
“Hey Spock, what do you want on your hot dog?”
It had a lot of subtle gags too. I remember the first time I saw it I was almost never not laughing.

The New York one was pretty funny, too, but I’d still take the X-Files one over it.

Oh, how could you touture me to pick only one?

I’d say The Shinin’ parody. But it’s not technically an episode. I also have a draw between 22 short stories about springfield and homer vs. the city of New York. I agree with Mr. Blue Sky about that one. It’s sad they banned it.

I second the X-Files one. The Springfeild Files I think it was called.

“DIE”

Homer: “AHHHHH”

“DIET”

Homer: “AHHHHHHHHHH”
MULDER flips his badge, and it’s him in a speedo.
Homer hits on Scully.

OH MAN, that WAS the best show!

… Eating Mustard packets in the back of Barney’s car??

I like the one where Burns gets homer to help find him a woman. It has the funniest Simpsons line ever:

Burns orders chinese and when the delivery boy shows up Burns look at his hand and the boy says “tip” and Burns says “Oh Im sorry, me no speaky chinese” and closes the door. Classic.

I also like the one where Krusty finds out he is not funny anymore and goes on stage at some benifit show and pulls out the stereotypical big teeth of the old movies with white people playing japanese people in them and looks at the crowd and says “Me so Siwwee ha HAAA…”. I was rolling when I saw that.
