Been thinking about it for a while, but now that we have the Has SNL cut down on unfunny recurring skits? thread, it seems like a good time.
For my money, the funniest has been Justin Timberlake and the ‘Bring it on down to ____ville’ skits . Just something about the brash confidence, the stupidly over-sized costume and the slick dance moves always made me laugh.
If not Belushi, then that era, and maybe Eddie Murphy later. I quit watching SNL on any regular basis after Murphy. It got too predictable and silly for me.
Phil Hartman’s “Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer” cracked me up every single time. It was all in Hartman’s delivery.
