Favorite SNL recurring character\skits

Been thinking about it for a while, but now that we have the Has SNL cut down on unfunny recurring skits? thread, it seems like a good time.

For my money, the funniest has been Justin Timberlake and the ‘Bring it on down to ____ville’ skits . Just something about the brash confidence, the stupidly over-sized costume and the slick dance moves always made me laugh.

Bring it on down to Veganville!

Samurai Whatever.

John Belushi was a god!

A fat, drunk and stupid god, but a god!

Celebrity Jeopardy.

If not Belushi, then that era, and maybe Eddie Murphy later. I quit watching SNL on any regular basis after Murphy. It got too predictable and silly for me.

People I did like: (from List of Saturday Night Live cast members - Wikipedia )

Bill Murray
Will Ferrell
Phil Hartman
Chris Rock

Bill Hader as Stefon on Weekend Update made me laugh. Every. Single. Time.

Hope he comes back tomorrow night when Hader hosts.

If he does, he’ll want to know where his husband is!

I loved him as James Carville. When he said hello to his eel-mother I nearly pissed myself.

The Penis Mightier.

He drives around, all over the town, Toonces the Driving Cat!

Bill Murray as the smarmy lounge singer.

Todd and Lisa

The Coneheads

Emily Litella

“Starrr Wars.”

Phil Hartman’s “Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer” cracked me up every single time. It was all in Hartman’s delivery.

Other faves:
Gap Girls
The Chris Farley Show
Brian Fellow’s Safari Planet
The Pretentious Lovers (Will Ferrell & Rachel Dratch)
Stefon
Jebidiah Atkinson
The Californians

I’m BRIAN FELLOWS!

Let us not forget Theodoric of York, Medieval Barber.

POINT/COUNTERPOINT: “Jane, you ignorant slut!”

MacGruber!

But it was Belushi plus Buck Henry that made it truly divine.
