Favorite Sports

With the beginning of football season, I am reminded that one of the things I love most about life also brings with it one of the things I hate most: COLD WEATHER…but that’s another thread.

I love American football, mostly the college variety, but I’ll watch pros occasionally. Around here, most people are fans of either OU (University of Oklahoma) or OSU (Oklahoma State University.) Since I live closer to OU, there are more OU fans here than OSU. It’s almost unheard of to be a fan of BOTH universities, as I am. I’m referred to as a “fair-weather fan” or some other such term. I don’t see it that way. I cheer for BOTH teams, unless they’re playing each other. When it comes down to the bedlam game, I’ll usually cheer for OSU, but last season OU was doing so good I hated to see them ruin it (which they didn’t)

I’m straying, though. Other than football, I don’t really like to watch other sports, unless I’m watching my son play (he’s 11.) He’s participated in soccer, baseball, and basketball, and track. I’ll watch any sport he’s playing, just because I love to watch him have fun.

What sports do you love to watch or participate in?

NFL, baby!

HOW 'BOUT DEM COWBO… uhhh… nevermind…

::excuses self from the room to cry alone::

Football is generally it unless there is something special to watch like in track or the Olympics. I like to watch the playoffs in college basketball and sometimes the NBA. Baseball is too boring and hockey just isn’t a game for TV (or at least I hope it is better live). My dad watches hours of golf, but I get in about 10 minutes of it a year. I used to like tennis, but no longer. I hope we are excluding wrestling from sports and can you think of anything more boring the bowling? So yeah, I’m glad football season is here again.

Hey, at least they finally got rid of Aikman. That boy was WAAAAAY past his prime!

Track & Field and long distance cycling (Tour de France, Paris-Roubaix, etc.).

Unfortunately, they’re not on TV that often.
