Favorite Summer Olympic Sport.

Right now, I’m going with team handball. Lots of action and athleticism.

Only down side is finding it. It’s never broadcast in the US, so you have to search the Olympic website.

What’s your choice?

This year . . . mosquito swatting.

Track cycling.

No sarcasm intended: I came here to say team handball! I love that game. It’s a little boring to watch on the Olympic website though, because the preliminary games often have no commentary. I’ve been spoiled, watching sports on TV.

Besides that, I like women’s gymnastics, and men’s and women’s basketball.

That’s my second place sport.

Anyone who guesses my favorite wins no internet points as it’s way too obvious.

Table Tennis. High level matches are absolutely amazing

2nd has to be diving.

I always try to catch the Modern Pentathlon: fencing and swimming and shooting and running cross-country and riding around on horseback? It’s like an action movie!

I am afraid to say it out loud.

There is a person who follows me around asking everyone “what is Shodan’s favorite Summer Olympic sport, so we can replace any coverage of it with more women’s gymnastics?”

Regards,
Shodan (hint hint)

Women’s Gymnastics followed by the various swimming events.

BeIN Sports has broadcast handball in the past, I’ve seen men’s Champions League matches there as well as women’s European National Championships.

Of course, that means getting BeIN Sports, which is often only available with extended sports packages.

During the Olympics itself it should be very available, if past NBC Olympic broadcasting schedules are anything to go by–on CNBC or Bravo, or whatever they use for low-US-interest sports.

For me, I’m a huge volleyball fan–I much prefer indoor court volleyball, but I’ll happily watch beach if it’s on.
