Favorite Super-Simple Sandwich?

Say, two or three ingredients.
Peanut butter and jelly, of course, although everyone has a favorite jelly. (Mine is strawberry rhubarb.)
But my very favorite is what I’m having for dinner right now: hummus (didn’t even make it!) with smoked turkey on pita. Mmmm!

Liverwurst and mustard.
Grilled cheese and tomatoes

BLT. Done.

Liverwurst on soft white bread with Miracle Whip.

I’ve never had liverwurst in my life! Much too sheltered, I’m afraid. Maybe I’ll try it soon, now that I know what to put on it…
I love a good BLT, too. Of course, I also just love a pure bacon on bread…lots of bacon, any kind of bread.

Pretty white trash but I like a cheez-whiz and baco-bits sandwich.

Homegrown tomato on white bread with Duke’s mayo.

Grilled cheese.

Fried bologna on toast.

Buttered toast with Marmite, topped with cheese and put under the broiler. Or, with Marmite and a fried egg.

Meatloaf, mayo, white bread.

Slab of cheese between two slices of bread. Ungrilled.

That’s been my breakfast almost every day for 40+ years now so yeah, guess it qualifies as a favorite.

Peanut butter, honey and raisins.

My dad always liked tomato and mayo on white bread. I prefer my tomatoes without bread, but I think it’s a favorite for a lot of people my parents’ ages.

Aged cheddar between two slices of whole wheat or rye bread. Micro-wave until the cheese is melted. Peel apart, add dill pickle slices, re-close. Serve with a glass of tomato juice or a bowl of canned tomatoes (recommended but not required).

Sharp cheddar, thick-sliced ham, garlic mayo… on 2 Eggo waffles. Grilled like a grilled cheese.

Seriously, heaven.

The correct answer is grilled cheese. If you want some meat on it, use corned beef. Trust me.

If you’re telling me to skip the Swiss cheese when adding sauerkraut and Thousand Island dressing to a nice pastrami on rye, then I’m still on board.

My most recent fave, courtesy of Trader Joe’s: sourdough, tinned smoked trout and wasabi gouda.

Ham, cream cheese, and mustard.

Learned it from a book in elementary school. Still make it once in a while.

When it comes to simplicity, this one wins it for me. On toasted rye, preferably, but anything will do.

Salami and cream cheese w/lots of dill pickle.
