Recently I hired a new contractor to maintian our building’s sprinkler system. The technician assinged to us is a great guy: friendly, hard-working and honest.
Late one of his co-workers told me he’d written this song, which I’d remembered from heavy rotation on my college rock station in the late 70’s. He sold it for 300K, ran that through his arm, and then gotten cleaned up.

I don’t know the first, but Sabre Dance was a top ten hit in Britain, and Something in the Air was number one for three weeks, and I have recently (in the last week or two) heard it on the radio and seen it discussed in Slate magazine. Far from obscure.
I wonder if that number kept growing the more that story got told. 3k might be more likely…that’s over a million dollars today.
I had a hard time choosing just one song from this album as the whole thing is spectacular, but I finally settled on Come Alive from Allen/Lande. Some of the best melodic hard rock I’ve ever heard.
