This floated into my Marketplace “for you” listings.
At $500K it is about the price of a modest 3 bedroom home around here.
Anybody else see any wtf stuff for sale on FB?

Exterior colour: Grey · Interior colour: Grey
Bit too grey for my liking..
For those who would rather not click the link, the OP is showing us a 125 foot “landing craft” (boat).
mmm
From the picture, I think the interior is gray.
Just how many shades of grey are we looking at?
500,000 (a few years ago it was 50, but inflation, you know)
I dunno, if someone is contemplating invading a small Pacific island (for instance), that LCS might be just the thing.
Conversion into a luxury houseboat might take another $500,000.
Absolutely no need to convert it. Just park your existing trailer onboard, optionally paint it gray, and enjoy your new mobile home.
I wonder if they can deliver it to Southern Illinois…
Nonsense! It’s got sleeping accommodation for at least three, two heads, and a shower (which, granted, needs cleaning) and a galley. What more do you need? ![]()
Hey, thanks for all the interior pix! Let me guess, that must be its Zillow listing, right?
If you hit “see more” on the FB description, you get the URL. I was looking for the tonnage certificate, because 125ft doesn’t make any sense. Sure enough, it’s 113.
A couple of days ago, there was a set of emails going around the faculty at the school I teach at asking where the lost and found was now, since our main office just moved. The answer settled on a table outside of the old main office. One teacher then asked “What about expensive items like phones or tablets? Where do we put those?” Another teacher answered “Facebook Marketplace”.
If anyone is curious, it’s the Lingayen Gulf (LCU-1528) a U.S. Navy landing craft that was launched in 1954 and retired in 1991. At some point, it was transferred to the U.S. Army for training purposes.
These guys could have used it.
