It’s a sad sign when the headline on FoxNews is the most accurate one out there. They at least are mentioning the server, not Hillary’s email.
Common_Tater:
No, it’s not technically or even physically possible to send email or docs from a secure network into the “open” broader internet that we all know and love. Someone had to copy those docs, photograph them, import them etc, and consciously upload them to unsecured networks and servers. This is what’s referred to as the “air gap”. .
Classified information is able to jump the air gap using carbon-based quasi-computers .
That makes sense. And of course he informed Democrats as well as Republicans, right?

For the record, here is the entire letter, posted at this tweet -
x.com
It’s very short, so here’s the text:
I’m not sure why Comey felt that it was necessary to inform the public that he had some new emails that might not even be significant, except, of course, that there’s an election coming up.
Where did Comey, himself, ‘inform the public’ ?
According to the NY Times, it’s related to your buddy and mine, Carlos Danger.
I suspect if such an obligation exists then it involves notifying the chairmen of the relevant committees, who are all Republicans.
If you click on the link above, the letter does say “Dear Messrs Chairmen”, so maybe you’re right.

He didn’t inform the public. He informed members of the Judiciary Committee. Yes, I’m sure he knew it was going to come out. But that doesn’t change the fact that he has some duty to inform the people that he told it was done that it was not totally finished after all.
How did you get it to say October? On my screen it says Oct
Maybe in 12 years I’ll learn that trick.
Yeah, that’s not even a date, it’s a month and a year. Very suspicious!
I have also enlarged the font. I’m guilty. Take me away!
Yeah, I saw that on CNN just now. I had the sound off, but I saw his name!
This just keeps getting better and better…
What I got out of CNN is that through the investigation of Anthony Weiner’s sexting case, the FBI found a device that they hadn’t previously had - I’m supposing Huma Abedin’s - that have some emails *to *Clinton on it; none *from *Clinton.
So it’s probably an endless string of rants about what utter douche-bag Anthony Weiner is.
Uh, it is looking like this could backfire on the Republican politicians that made a lot of hay too soon:
WASHINGTON ― The FBI announced on Friday that it is reviewing more emails related to Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s handling of sensitive government information.
The New York Times reported the emails the FBI is investigating were found on devices belonging to Clinton aide Huma Abedin and former Congressman Anthony Weiner. Weiner had been under federal investigation over allegations that he traded sexually explicit messages with an underage girl. Weiner and Abedin separated in August.
The Associated Press reported that the emails the FBI is investigating are not from Clinton and did not come from her private server. NBC’s Pete Williams also noted that the emails are not from Clinton and were not withheld by Clinton’s campaign. He reported that the investigation is not related to WikiLeaks or Russian hacking.
In July, Comey announced the FBI would not recommend criminal charges against the former secretary of state but called the handling of sensitive information “extremely careless.”
Brookings senior fellow Benjamin Wittes posted a breakdown on Twitter of what Comey’s letter means.
However, Matthew Miller, a former spokesman for the Department of Justice, said Comey’s Friday disclosure was inappropriate.
Well, shoot; I have come from criticizing Comey to supporting him and then now to criticizing him again in just a few hours, WTF Comey?

The whole debacle is a huge crock of shit.
Or just type some fact (“the asset is in Cairo”) without realizing that it’s classified, which is pretty damn common.
Honey:
My hope is that they find no evidence of wrongdoing, and we can put this to bed for good. Then maybe the pubs will shut the fuck up about it.
I think it’s too close to election day, and the investigation will take too long, to have a serious effect on Hillary’s campaign. I hope I’m right.
My first thought was, “who did Trump pay off to make this happen?”. Then I read that there were emails found that were “pertinent” to the investigation.
They will never, ever shut the fuck up about it. When Hillary Clinton is celebrating her 100th birthday, they will still be yammering on about emails. When email completely stops being a form of communication, when it’s thought of like telegrams are today, they will still be yammering on about the damned emails.

So, the emails:
Weren’t from HRC’s private server;
Weren’t from HRC;
Weren’t previously withheld
Yawn. Again, yawn. The reaction is more interesting than the news, isn’t it?
Benjy Sarlin of NBC had the best take:
“As per usual, this breaking politics story went from House of Cards to Veep within roughly two hours”

CarnalK:
I don’t know if it’s the concensus but at the time (at the press conference and hearings) Comey said that the mishandling, with the strictest reading of the law, could be considered illegal “no reasonable prosecutor would take this case” and that no one had been prosecuted before with this level of mishandling of information.
not entirely correct.
He said that her actions were lacking intent and therefore no reasonable prosecutor would pursue.
“Oh, you think your husband is a dipshit who thinks with his little head! Let me tell you what my dipshit did!” Just girly things.
