Interesting. Trump just doesn’t know when to shut his mouth.
Trump, in case someone is reading this to you, the answer is “all the time”. Shut your mouth all the time.
FBI Search and Seizure at Trump's Mar-A-Lago Residence, August 8, 2022, Case Dismissed July 15, 2024
Never mind! This thread moves fast. And I’m digging on @JohnT.
And from a culpability standpoint, does it matter whether the materials he wasn’t supposed to have was in cartons or on the floor?
I have to suspect the answer is “no.” If you’ve got top secret documents you aren’t supposed to have, it isn’t going to make a whit of difference if you leave them in a pile on the floor, or stick them in a bankers box.
Big strong men with tears in their eyes. So I hear.
Omg, this Habba is soooooo bad at lawyering. Here she is on Fox admitting that she searched the office and that Trump frequently had guests with him in the same office where the FBI found the NatSec docs:
Oh sure, you want us to believe an article written by a Cheney. It was probably written on Hunter’s laptop from hell.
Gotta love the reference to the “Biden DOJ” on the bottom.
I’m having a hard time understanding why Trump and his lawyers aren’t already arrested and in jail. Isn’t there urgency in understanding just how much damage has already been caused to our security infrastructure and intelligence networks? He should be arrested, in cuffs, perp walk, etc., and then grilled to find out exactly how much of the top secret materials have been disseminated. Bright lights, polygraph, etc. This is triage time for our national security.
ETA: At this point, he is allowed to leave the country and go anywhere he wants, correct? Flight risk is significant here.
Wouldn’t he have to notify his secret service detail? They will definitely be telling HQ ‘yeah, we’re boarding a jet and not telling us where we are going’.
Long story short, he didn’t address or refute a single fact in the DOJ filing. There’s even a passage where they say something along the lines of “the government’s problems are too many to note…”, which is STUPID AS SHIT because this filing is where you want to list those exact problems so you can address them on appeal.
Morons. Not even salt of the earth morons.
What about common clay of the new West morons? Oh, right. Floriduh.
Never mind
There’s a carton in the picture.
Side note: I’ve never heard them called Redweld envelopes before now. We just call them expandable folders in our office.
I’ve always called them accordion folders/files. Merriam-Webster even has an entry for that, and apparently the term goes back to 1892.
Maybe I’m just old-fashioned.
Looking it up, it seems that Redweld is just a brand name of accordion folders.
I’m with m’colleague @Joey_P here. I don’t think his post was an admission of guilt. Sorry, Internet, you got this one wrong.
I thought he already said those documents were declassified by him, saying he knew the classification and location of said documents.
Trump said he had a “standing order” that everything transferred to Mar-aLago was declassified. Everybody says that’s complete bullshit.
I took this screenshot from Truth Social. Did Trump just confess to hanging onto classified information about Iran’s nuclear program? Is he admitting to deliberately withholding this information from the Biden Administration?
It’s clear from the twuth ( it’s not a tweet, but I’m NOT calling it a truth) he still doesn’t understand that the information doesn’t belong to him. I think if I turn my head to the south, I can hear the faint sound of his new lawyer banging his head against the wall.
(This originally seems to have been twuthed by someone that isn’t Trump, but instead of “retwuthing” it, he did a copy paste (and he didn’t even do that right, it’s cut off) and made it his own.
Nice post,. and yes, it’s pretty hard to interpret that any other way.
And it’s a very telling glimpse into the mindset of the Orange Peril. The idea of continuity between administrations, that the purpose of government is to serve the interests of the people of the United States – which includes protecting them from foreign enemies – never even entered his tiny brain. To him, it’s all about personal vendettas. To him,. it’s perfectly reasonable that he scuttle “Obama’s” nuclear deal with Iran, because Obama is the enemy, not Iran, and it’s perfectly reasonable that he keep the details a secret from his successor, because Biden, too, is the enemy. It’s also perfectly plausible in his warped tiny brain that Jake Sullivan ordered his wife to use her feminine wiles to connive Merrick Garland into ordering a search of Trump’s home to try to retrieve secret information about the Iran deal. This is certainly how things might work in the homelands of his two heroes and best pals, Putin and Kim Jong-Un.
This is how the man thinks. It’s also exactly how he behaves, if you look back at his nepotistic kleptocracy. He’s a dangerous psychopath, period. Sorry, not saying anything everybody didn’t already know, just venting.
