I liked this paragraph from the Washington Post article above.
The affidavit that one of Trump’s lawyers said “he was not advised” that there were documents in “any private office space or other location” at Mar-a-Lago. This is the first sign that at least one attorney is not going to take the fall for misleading the Justice Department about the location of the documents. And the person advising the lawyer logically must be Trump or someone acting at his behest. In short, the lawyer seems to be pointing his finger at his client with regard to any alleged obstruction.
I wonder if the author knows who the Trump lawyer is or if “he” is meant to cover both men and women.

I didn’t mean they are for sure right. Just that it is interesting to speculate about if, and what, he could have been writing on actual Top Secret documents. Like, maybe he thought if he wrote on them, they became his.
Emptywheel is a lawyer with a blog, who’s usually very accurate and often prescient.
No it’s not. It’s a blog run by journalist Marcy Wheeler, with group of writers/journalists with different kinds of expertise, but according to their About page, only one of them - BMAZ - claims to practice law. The cite above was written by Wheeler.
All that said, I started following Wheeler during the Plame affair, and she’s both brilliant and accurate.

She is not a lawyer she’s an independent journalist who specializes in national security.
Lately, she has been closely following the Durham investigation, January 6 trials, and, of course, the Trump documents case.

This question is MaL related: what is that ugly decorative dildo sticking up from the center turret? Is it supposed to be a stylized bell tower or chimney?
Looks like it may be a chimney, there are several smaller ones around the outer walls. Doesn’t seem to be a lighthouse type thing in any of the night pictures.

The former president said an indictment wouldn’t stop him from running for the White House again and repeatedly said Americans “would not stand” for his prosecution.
“If a thing like that happened, I would have no prohibition against running,” Trump said in an interview with conservative talk radio host Hugh Hewitt. “I think if it happened, I think you’d have problems in this country the likes of which perhaps we’ve never seen before. I don’t think the people of the United States would stand for it.”
Hewitt asked Trump what he meant by “problems.”
“I think they’d have big problems. Big problems. I just don’t think they’d stand for it. They will not sit still and stand for this ultimate of hoaxes,” Trump said.

This guy is really scared and lashing out now. Does he not realize that the government is not under his control this time and that they are just waiting for his followers to perform some stupid pathetic move. That he does not command a real army of citizens that could take down the goverment. A goverment that is activily watching and prosecuting his followers.

He also doesn’t understand that “the people of the United States” are not a monolithic bloc who all agree with him. In fact, a majority of “the people of the United States” think he’s an imbecile, a thief and a traitor.
