Kise has a reputation as being a very good lawyer. That makes me wonder if he had the temerity to say « No, Mr Trump, I’m afraid your proposed course of action would not be legal / proper / likely to help you in court » and is no longer n Trump’s good books.

See, my pure speculation is that it was Kise who suggested Dearie as a special master and sold it to Trump on the basis of the FISA bullshit. Now Trump is pissed that he got a real judge and sidelined Kise due to pique.

It may be speculation, but I’d bet you are right. Once again, Trump wastes other peoples money. I wonder how long Kise will have to sit around twiddling his thumbs until the $3 million is used up. I also wonder if his old firm will take him back after this. They clearly wanted no association with this case.
That, or Kise refused to lie for Trump and flush his entire reputation and career down the drain. Perhaps he’s trying to avoid the Trump Touch.

If he’s not doing work on the suit/issue, he doesn’t get to charge hours against the retainer. But just because he isn’t lead doesn’t mean they aren’t giving him things to do/ research, of course.
Sure, but a big deal was made about a top Florida lawyer taking over the case. Having him do research etc. will still be charged at his top rates, no? You don’t give someone a $3 million retainer to do research and make copies.
The Department of Justice just filed a one day extension request to find an online web portal creator who will work with them to create a system for trump to view the unclassified documents.
The problem they are having is: not a single reputable vendor which works with the Department of Justice will work with Donald Trump, given that he doesn’t pay his vendors; and also given the issues at truth social.
