With a fucking chandelier
FBI Search and Seizure at Trump's Mar-A-Lago Residence, August 8, 2022, Case Dismissed July 15, 2024
Nevermind
Speculation from a talking head on MSNBC (might have been Andrew Weissman) was that they dropped out because they wouldn’t be able to do so once the trial is actually happening. So they were “waiting to hear from Mr. Green” or in other words demanding payment in advance. Their departure shows how this worked out for them.
I think it is a shower/tub and that is the shower curtain. Along the left you can see the shower surround…more gaudy marble or whatever that stone is. It’s a “lavish” bathroom with a Walmart shower rod and curtain. Doesn’t surprise me. Put in a ton of “elegance” to distract from the reality that it’s all shit.
Dang it - I looked at the replies that were mentioned and posted mine. Then I finished reading the thread and see other replies like mine…not sure why they didn’t show up. Anyway, yeah, fake opulence.
That’s his SCI. It stands for Shower Curtain Infront.
People that filmed " The Devils Advocate " Actually used Trumps real apartment. They had this to say -
“Oh my god. The Trump sh*t. F**k man, it’s his apartment. The killer real-estate molester? We shot in his apartment. We needed the ugliest, most garish, horrifying real-estate developer apartment we could possibly find, and Trump threw his apartment at us. We didn’t have to [do anything]. If you look at the movie, that’s his f’n shit-bag apartment with all Versailles gilt and the high-rise windows. It’s just so perfect.
IMHO the boxes and the curtain rod are the nicest things in that bathroom. It really ties it together.
Just wondering about a hypothetical, given the apparently sensitive documents here.
Suppose some janitor at Mar a Lago, having nothing to do with the obstruction, and having no real direct relationship with Trump, walks into a storage closet and sees all these boxes next to his Orange Goop. So he sits down and starts reading.
Learns where the aliens are held. Discovers the launch code is 1234. Finds out that Hitler and Elvis live together in Argentina. But that’s it. He’s just curious but takes no other action.
Assuming this is found out, has he committed a crime? Is he in any trouble?
I think Trump avoided that scenario by employing non-English speaking immigrants.
Unintended benefit.
I know your stipulation is that he takes no other action. But he must have a hell of a bad marriage not to tell his wife. Let an unauthorized person know, and that’s an Espionage Act violation.
As to what happens if he’s an unmarried loner, maybe he’ll be OK. But taking it out of the Trump context, I think about:
The following was not written by @enipla, but rather directly quoted from the linked article:
When I first read this in your post, I thought either you were paraphrasing, or the guy was just being a dick. But the article includes a video clip of the scene in question, and holy shit, that apartment is so much worse than he even described.
Yeah, I didn’t handle that quote very well. I had read before that the film crew where clearly laughing about it in his presence. Sorry no cite.
Someone on the SDMB shared a picture of Trump and Melania in the apartment. Melania of course in a gold dress. Now I am paraphrasing but the poster said something like this - “Everything in the apartment is covered in gold, even the digger”
Seems the folks yelling “Lock her up!” in 2016 have problems with “Lock him up!” in 2023.
Guess pronouns are important.
They have no problem whatsoever with “Lock him up!”, but it’s Jack Smith they’re talking about, not the accused.
I mean, what kind of country have we become? One in which federal prosecutors can take “evidence” before a “grand jury,” and that grand jury can “vote to indict” a former president for 37 alleged “crimes”? Look at all the other people out there in America, including Democrats like Hillary Clinton and President Joe Biden, who HAVEN’T been indicted for crimes on the flimsy excuse that there is no “evidence” they did crimes. THAT’S TOTALLY UNFAIR!
I skimmed through the article so help me out here. Was this supposed to be satire or is this guy serious? Sadly, it’s really difficult to tell these days as the MAGATs are so out there that their reality is already automatic satire.
Poe’s Law!
Beautifully done!
" I’m not sure I want to live in a country where a former president can wave around classified documents he’s not supposed to have and say, “This is secret information. Look at this,” and then be held accountable for his actions."
I’m about 97% sure it’s satire. Most genuine Trump supporters say that he had every right to have the documents, and deny that he showed it to anyone.
I read it earlier today. It’s got some gems
And my favorite.
