I did some further searching and it appears that Trump tried to flush papers down the toilet in the past, but not today. It still proves a pattern of behavior, though.

Happy dance! Still not popping open that bottle of champagne, but it’s chilling.
Trump needs to get on Hannity, stat!, and give us his typical rambling, incoherent response which will reveal pretty much all.
We’re still some time away from indictments. But this is an in-your-face move by DOJ and they’re well aware of that. Consider it their public-facing opening gambit. Indictments are coming.

Switched to cnn. It was mentioned that the search could be very extensive. It would be more than, oh, look, there are the boxes, off we go. This could be a every nook and cranny search.
Which does give them a chance at finding quite a bit of other evidence of illegality.
I have a mental image of a Kohler commercial with a Trumpelthinskin look-alike successfully flushing documents down the commode with just one flush.
They took down Al Capone for tax evasion, not his murderous gangstering. Now will the Feds Capone Trump for records violations? If they can’t get him for the insurrection/seditious conspiracy I’ll happily settle for slammer time for that.
Somewhat more specific, from that article:

The “also” in there is curious. It reads like there was a longer description of what the search was for but then most of it was edited out. E.g. “We were looking for evidence pertaining to certain cases (but please don’t write that) and also if he still had presidential and classified documents”.
Trump was selling US secrets. That’s what I bet this is coming down to, especially if it pertains to classified documents.
Reporting is that the concentrated on his office and bedroom.

I wonder how much this is going to move the needle for the people who have been complaining that the DoJ and AG Garland haven’t moved fast enough or have no plans to hold Trump accountable.
