FBI Search and Seizure at Trump's Mar-A-Lago Residence, August 8, 2022, Case Dismissed July 15, 2024

Sounds like you’re referring to ‘War Plan Red’. It’s a typical example of what military planners around the globe routinely do to devise contingencies to respond to both likely and unlikely events.

Everybody is planning to invade Quebec? I better change my vacation plans.

This recording was made at Trump’s Bedminster, New Jersey property.

I only raise this because NJ is a “one party consent” state (meaning: the recording would have been legal even if Trump wasn’t aware that he was being recorded) while Florida is an “all party consent” state.

When I was in graduate school, one of my projects was to plan out the opening of a new museum. What kind of museum is it? What’s the mission statement? Where do we secure funding? What’s our policy on exhibits and artifacts? Who is our target audience? While I wouldn’t argue I’m good at it, if someone asked me to create a museum from scratch I’d at least have some idea of what I was doing. It seems to me that planning an invasion is complicated, and you want commanders to have some practice before having to do the real thing.

D’oh! I knew that. I didn’t realize the Meadows book’s been out a while. It would be interesting to compare the book version of events with whatever Jack digs up.

I believe he is referring to the “Gen. Milley is a poopy-head case” that Trump was trying in the media. It also bears mentioning that the only reason Trump is making this case in the first place is because he heard Milley was talking some shit about him, which requires this narrative to put Trump in place as the defender of Iran. The evil military, led by the evil Gen. Milley wanted to invade Iran and Trump was the only adult in the room capable of stopping them. Sure, and while we’re at it can I get a price quote on that bridge in Brooklyn?

To be totally fair, the US has invaded Quebec before. But never took it.

So, one could imagine they’d like to actually win the next time and plan accordingly.

The military is often accused of re-fighting the last war. In this case, the War of 1812.

I’d enjoy working out the possible permutations and contingencies. I’ve liked helping to set up crisis enactments at work.

I’ve enjoyed initiating crises at work.

My hero.

Just curious: has the current SCOTUS taken a formal stand on poopy-heads?

I hope that’s part of your job description. 'Cause that would be awesome!

If I needed a CV anymore, I’d surely list it as a skill.

The American Revolution, too. But that wasn’t the most recent war

As to the leaked audio recording, some of the talking heads at Fox News think trump himself leaked the audio because he thinks it exonerates him. That’s worth thinking about. Of course he’s raising a ruckus on his pretend social media platform that Jack Smith, or the “Bidden” regime, or the corrupt FBI and DOJ are behind the leak, and because of that the whole trial should be thrown out.

Yeah, he probably did it.

So if he is convicted and goes to jail, will he be Biden his time?

Trump posted on Truth that the tape totally exonerates him. He is just so brazen in the way he always publicly states that everyone should read a transcript or listen to a tape, which of course totally does not exonerate him, because he knows that his fans won’t do it. And they won’t because why would he tell them to read or listen to something that was incriminating. He is not hiding anything - TOTAL EXONERATION! Is that a typical conman strategy or is he the first to pull that off?

Same thing with the Mueller report. Total exoneration, even though it did the opposite. And the Presidential Records Act does the opposite of what Trump claims. He gets away with it because his supporters are as dumb as boxes of roxes.

They don’t read the Constitution. They don’t read the Transcripts (of the call with Zelenskyy). They don’t read the Mueller Report. They don’t read the Durham Report. They don’t read Jack Smith’s 37-count Indictment. I’m not convinced they even read.

They don’t watch the January 6 Committee Investigative Hearings. They don’t watch Durham’s Congressional testimony. They don’t wait to see what evidence Alvin Bragg might have. They don’t look elsewhere to learn about the revelations from the Dominion lawsuit.

Instead, they line up and get empty talking points as though they were communion wafers at Church, and then they spend all day regurgitating them, safe in the knowledge that their fellow MAGA types will smile vapidly, and that they can dismiss the substantive corrections of others as “FAKE NEWS” or “RINOs.”

None so blind as those who will not see.
