FBI Search and Seizure at Trump's Mar-A-Lago Residence, August 8, 2022, Case Dismissed July 15, 2024

It’s a good post, just in the wrong thread. Easy mistake to make. There’s so much to keep track of just now.

i believe it has a chance…reporting was that cannon was advised to pass the case to miami or to recuse when the case came to her.

the appeals court could be “very done with her” and decide to reassign.

Recent reporting reveals that Judge Cannon failed to disclose her attendance at right wing judicial seminars.

Maybe this would get her removed from this case (after the appeals court corrects her dismissal).

Would I believe Trump over Bob Woodward?

Hm. No.

I think this is relevant to this thread and this Trump indictment. Trump allegedly spoke at least seven times with Vladimir Putin after (grudgingly) leaving office.

Putin. Seven times. No longer POTUS. In possible violation of the Logan Act. While illegally in possession of classified materials.

Just golf, though? Think they were just talking about golf?

We really need those espionage charges to be filed.

That’s huge. But nothing will come of it. Thanks for pointing out the Logan Act @DavidNRockies I forgot what it was called.

I’m forgetting details about this case. I know Jack Smith appealed the dismissal, but can’t remember when we should expect that appeal to be decided. Do we have any idea when to expect it?

MAL 11th Cir.: Gov’t reply brief, if any, due in its appeal from Judge Cannon order dismissing the indictment based on the alleged unlawful appointment and funding of Special Counsel Jack Smith (per FRAP 31(a)(1))

Thanks, @DavidNRockies. So 6 more days until there’s any action.

For those interested in the career of Judge Aileen Cannon (any further discussion about this probably should take place on another thread (which one?)):

A proposed personnel roster circulating within Donald Trump’s campaign and transition operation lists Aileen Cannon, the federal judge who threw out Trump’s classified documents case, as a possible candidate for attorney general, multiple sources familiar with the matter have told ABC News.

It’s the carrot – whether or not it would ever be a reality.

It’s about loyalty. To a traitor.

Carrots they got, but are probably running low. The stick is the problem. We must not allow that to change hands.

Why would you give up life tenure on the Federal bench for at most 4-year stint in the cabinet?

Unless you think it could be lifetime cabinet appointment…

In the hopes of springboarding from there into a spot on the US Supreme Court?

I’m actually a fan of non-judge experience for SCOTUS (not her, of course), but it seems like the career path to the court has ossified to always passing through an appeals court seat

With an Ivy League law degree. Coney Barrett (Notre Dame) is the only one currently on the Court that didn’t go to Harvard or Yale.

Washington Post: Democracy dies in darkness

Trump’s attorneys: Boom, Boom. Out go the lights!

Now, we wait and see what the 11th Circuit CoA does.

That corrupt piece of shit

Blatant unvarnished corruption. They DEMANDED the audio recording of Biden’s interview with the Special Council regarding classified documents, even though they had the entire text transcript. Then they bury this entire report, that we all paid for. Special place in hell for all of them.

Start getting used to it because its only going to get worst. :rage:
