Fear Factor

Where does FEAR FACTOR come up with “fresh” gross food to eat? A couple weeks ago the contestants had to eat: fish eyes, sheep eyes and cow eyes. Where did they get this?

Not long ago they had to eat cow liver, cow spinal chord and cow snout. I assume this stuff has to be fresh so they don’t get poisoned right?

Last night they ate super worms, earth worms, madagasgar roaches and I think mealy worms. Where do you buy this stuff?

The worms can all be bought at pet stores. They’re used to feed various reptiles.

They probably get all the cow/sheep bits at a butcher’s, no?

Some of it looks cooked, I don’t think they would serve raw food, except for worms & insects.

I suppose they have a book on exotic foods people eat to come up with some ideas?

What the hell are super worms?

(And do I really want to know?)

Super worms are red and have lots of segments. I think they eat anything. They are about the size of a small earthworm.

Last night they dumped all these worms and roaches into a blender of water and swirled it around. Then the contestants had to drink it. It was thick and gross and the contestants were constantly spitting out wings and legs.

Sometimes I hear about animal rights activists getting angry over the treatment of animals during movie production. Such as the snakes or rats or even roaches in an Idiana Jones movie. They want to ensure that none of them are harmed in any way.

How come they aren’t freaking out over folks eating live insects on FF?

That is a good question Malaka!

About a month ago they ate live squiggly Green Horned Tomato Worms. When they bit them the guts squirted out. It was defintly inhumane!

They can eat tomato worms otherwise they eat my tomatos. I don’t know why they had people eating animal penises & balls, but it was fun to watch.

Unless I’m mistaken, I think that they boil all the raw stuff (aside from live bugs) which cooks it enough but still allows the nasty stuff to retain all its slimy and ickiness. Although I can’t say that I’d really prefer fried or sauteed cow snout to boiled cow snout.
Bleech.

They have said that most of it is procured by just going to the nearest ethnic neighborhood and finding a butcher or fish seller. Our gross-out is other’s delicacies.

Of course, they don’t boil the stuff when it’s served as a delicacy! Boiled ruins almost any meat. I don’t think I could eat a boiled steak.
